Family, friends farewell Natasha Richardson
"A sombre group of friends and family have gathered in a small Hudson Valley town to say a final farewell to Tony Award-winning actress Natasha Richardson.

Actor Liam Neeson, in a dark suit and sunglasses, was among the pallbearers who carried his wife's coffin into St Peter's Episcopal Church, near the home where the two married in 1994.

He arrived at the tiny white clapboard church with the couple's sons; his mother-in-law, actress Vanessa Redgrave, and his sister-in-law, actress Joely Richardson. Also among the mourners were Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman and Laura Linney.

The 45-year-old British actress was buried in a nearby cemetery, amid hilly horse farms about 128km north of New York City."

Let's just hope that her untimely death, and the manner of it, will help somebody else in a similar situation make
the decision not to leave things to chance, but make sure they're checked out by a qualified medic. We'll probably
never know if she might have lived with earlier intervention, but it never hurts to take every precaution.

2. I am saddened by this event.. I sure wish that they had done a brain scan...
before she left Canada.... But I guess they say things happen for a reason, haven't figured that reason out yet but hope to someday.

3. So sad
I saw her in Closer on Broadway, I thought she was the best one in the show.

5. Absolutely terrible --
Just want to mention Vanessa's sister ... Lynn Redgrave

and that Vanessa has a son - Carlo Nero, half brother to Natasha and Joely.

That same year, Redgrave crossed the Atlantic to star as Guinevere in the film version of the hit Broadway musical “Camelot” (1967). Her Lancelot was up-and-coming Italian actor Franco Nero, and their on-screen romance translated into an off-screen relationship that produced a son – future director and screenwriter, Carlo Nero.

This is a beautiful production, btw, worth seeing ---

and noted recently that Natasha spoke of seeing her Mom in this and how moving it was ---

how beautiful she was!

Oh, dear . . . sad, sad --

7. Thank you for this. I'm heartbroken about her death.
Her mother had become a favorite actress of mine since I saw "Camelot" at age 12. I have the dvd of it, also.

6. I wonder if the family donated any of her organs?
Since this was a head injury and she was on life support for a while, I couldn't help but wonder. When the brain scan of our granddaughter showed no visible activity, the hospital asked if our son and DIL would consider it. They did and once arrangements had been made for donation, she was taken off life support. Two families had a wonderful Christmas present. She will forever be my Christmas angel.
