I hope the CEOs outraged about bonuses being taxed keep it up ...
Edited on Sun Mar-22-09 08:44 AM by Blackhatjack
... maybe they will go on television and radio, and tell the people how upset they are that their millions in bonuses will be taxed even though they have taken BILLIONS in taxpayer money. Give the Citicorp CEO some free tv/radio time so he can make his case....

.... then maybe we will finally see public anger spill over into the streets, and then the bailout CEOs will have something to really worry about.

Bonuses are a drop in the bucket ... just wait until the people focus on the actual heist being perpetrated. We may yet see the pitchforks and torches come out....

1. The whiny "outraged" CEOs who think they are entitled and privileged
Ought to remember two numbers-1789 and 1917.

3. Tax the rich?
They should be taxed so hard they do just that..... go on TV and complain.

What we need is a figure-head to take the lead on this situation. Problem is all the possible leaders are rich and they know if they step out of line they may just get a secret visit.

But in a few more months there may be enough common folks hurting so badly that the pitchforks just seem to materialize out of thin air. I've never seen so many pissed people as I see these days.

4. yet We The People are expected to endure whatever tax rate is imposed on us
Edited on Sun Mar-22-09 09:06 AM by ima_sinnic
-- including doubling of FICA withholding under that stinking POS Reagan (or was it GHWB? can't exactly remember) as well as taxing of unemployment benefits under REPUBLICANS.

With republiKKKlans in charge, ordinary people are taxed harder, but the stupid masses continue to elect them. With Democrats, now, finally, the greedy pig rich people can also pay into the public treasury. Why they think they shouldn't is beyond me. Are they so compromised and delusional that they think they are somehow "more special" than the average US taxpayer and should live lives of luxury and idleness supported by the middle class? (duh--rhetorical question!) In any other society, they would be reviled as true Welfare Queens.

5. Amazing
I was just watching 'Sunday with George S' and here is George Will saying that 'we have to let the markets do their thing that is the way it has always worked'. Get George so there was no trust busting during Teddy Roosevelts time and no strong regulatory measure after the Great Depression. George people are not stupid and you keep spouting the same old lying crap. A woman, didn't get her name, on the same show kept throwing out the meme that if you try to tax the bigwigs on Wall Street they just won't play. They will turn down the government money and we 'have to have them' to solve the problem. Number one, they caused the damn problem why do we need them?. Number two, if they want to take their ball and bat and go home because we won't play by their screwed up rules then let them fail.

6. CEO comments can be translated "Let them(taxpayers) eat cake..." OR "Only little people pay taxes"
They have no concept of having any obligation to support this country, financially or otherwise.

They see this country, its resources and its citizens as targets worthy of exploitation --nothing more. They see themselves as the overclass and everyone else as created to serve them.
