I Just Want To Say This: Obama Already Is And Is Going To Be The Greatest President In History
Edited on Fri Mar-20-09 05:44 PM by mudesi
I just watched Obama's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HY_utC-hrjI">message to Iran, and let me tell you, I'm blown away. This guy is the Real Deal.

Obama is gonna fix things up. He's going after the corporations and he's gonna win. He's going after the corruption and he's gonna win. He's gonna go after the Republicans and he's already winning. I don't really know what the point of this post is, frankly. I'm just needing to express how glad I am to see this man as the president.

8. He could be the greatest simply because life is alot more complecated now than ever before.
We've had some great presidents, but they all operated during eras when war was seen as a viable way of solving problems. Today, that's not so true. They also lived in times when equality for all men meant equality for white men, not women or minorities.

Obama has his hands full right now, assailed in the main by enemies domestic. I have hope for him as he's showed himself smart and principled.

5. Me, too!!!
He's ballsy and daring to do this his way instead of "how they've always been done." He's good at listening and he really means it when he talks about "cooperation." I don't think he'll take any crap if people start operating in bad faith, which makes me just like him more.

He's smart and he's confident.

And he's OUR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!

15. The diff between Obama and Bush is night and day....Obama Positive...Bush is Negative...
Bush let us get attacked on 9/11...he never protected America as he claimed....Dumping the Hart Rudman Commission report as the start of the DownFall

At the time, Bush claimed Cheney was gonna be the Terror Resistent in Chief...which never came about....never even had a single meeting till after 9/11....

President Obama is a breath of fresh air.....the Polarity has changed....

23. That's not sufficient for greatness.
Simple "difference from Bush" is not enough. My cat would have been better than Bush.

17. LOL LOL LOL LOL

Are you series??/?/?

While I hope that he does an excellent job (and I think he will), you should probably let a bit more than 60 days of his first term pass before declaring Obama the greatest president in history.

21. Um, no
It may be a good bumper sticker slogan, but it's certainly not factual. Perhaps he's done more in 60 days than i[]some presidents did in 8 years, but I would suspect that even that statement isn't accurate.

Let's give him time before we crown him the best ever.

19. Kicked to the greatest page: tend to think this might well happen. Lincoln had the Civil War, FDR
had the Great Depression and WWII but 'pukes, starting with the gipper and culminating with junior, handed BHO catastrophic damage to our country in the tens of trillions of dollars to the economy, the capital markets, the stock markets, main street, and the job market in addition to mounting an unrelenting assault on liberty and freedom itself. It will take one of our greatest presidency's ever to right the floundering ship of state and return this country to prosperity. Despite numerous initial gaffs, BHO just might pull it off: anyone who hopes he will fail must love their politics far more than their country and theu have some other type of government in mind. :P

22. Yeah move over Lincoln fuck freeing the slaves! Here comes Obama and he talks good!
He's going after the corporations? He's done nothing but bailout corporations and give them practically everything they ask for at the tax payers expense.

Now to be fair he passed through an impressive piece of progressive spending in the form of the Recovery act, and that was a great thing. I cheered and cheered him for that when it happened, including several threads right here in DU trying to explain why the bill was such a big deal to people who were skeptical.

So I wouldn't go off the rails and describe him as purely some corporate lackey. But saying that he is "going after" corporations simply doesn't make sense. He's done nothing to "go after" them other than hand them multi-billions of dollars. And we're getting ready for Bailout #2 by the way, another package of hundreds of billions of Main Street money to go to Wall Street.

He's going after Republicans? Bzzzt. Sorry, but that would be the exact opposite of what he is doing. Or was I asleep when he announced special prosecutors to investigate the criminal activity of the republican party through the last administration? Did he suddenly repudiate his reach across the isles, find middle ground, compromise approach to politics and I wasn't looking?

Hopefully Obama goes after the corruption. That remains to be seen.

I'm sorry but Lincoln..... Jefferson.... these names ring a bell? They only freed the salves and WROTE THE CONSTITUTION between the two of them. They're pretty great. :eyes:

I see no indication at all that he's gonna do anything non-cosmetic in the area of economics. Or regarding the military industrial complex.
