...... since he wasn't there when most of the **serious** shit went down?

I feel like I'm just watching a bunch of hack grandstanders.

8. Steven Lynch of Mass was the worst.
What an asshole.

He was accusing Liddy directly of everything under the sun and wouldn't let Liddy finish any answers.

3. Some are, but some are asking very good questions and making suggestions...

to try and help him. The problem that I still have is that Liddy was asked by the Bush Administration to assume the CEO position as I understand it.

4. He was there from September on
If he is completely blameless, he should have no problem producing the identities of those who were actually responsible.

Let's just say that the wide-eyed act was getting old after awhile.

5. I agree. Plus some obviously weren't listening to all of his testimony because they came in and

asked dumbass questions which had already been answered.

Also, do some of these congresspeople truly not understand a deal where in January or February, people are each given an individual project (unwinding 25 contracts or so) and will be given a bonus ("retention" or whatever) at the end of the fiscal year. Some people completed their project in October, some are still doing theirs. People who completed their project in October or November were still supposed to get their bonuses. This seemed to be too complicated for a few of the Representatives.

People can freak out about the bonuses all they but that isn't a particularly complicated concept.

6. Libby should receive their thanks
He did not cause the problem, he is serving as head of AIG because the government asked him to try to fix the problems with AIG. I say that some of the members of the inquisition are not worth a $1.00 a year and Mr. Libby could be worth more to this country than the entire group and he is working for $1.00 a year.
People who are part of the problem should not get on a soapbox and grandstand, it shows their lack of common sense.

Especially that asshole from Massachusetts who was yelling and yelling about the details of the wrong bonus, the(performance) bonus policy which was before Libby's time. Libby told him so but the guy told him that oh yes he was there. When Libby got a word in edgewise to tell him that no such bonuses had been paid (What was this guy doing when I heard that some time before). Everybody else was talking about the retention bonus. He did not even take a second to apologize. Oh that one was thinking about making the local news.

Many of them seemed to be unaware of what I had heard from Libby myself. On the whole I understood Libby's position and in the end agree that he did the most sensible thing. But he didn't provide political cover for these guys and that's what they are livid about.

The retention bonus was badly named. Isn't it more of a completion bonus? To stay until you work yourself out of a job? It would make sense for any of them to hang it up the first time they get a good offer with a future, rather than waiting until the end not knowing if there will be any jobs at that time and the bonus is what keeps them around to wrap things up. I can see that he will be in deep shit managing these books day to day while HR interviews. I hate to say it but I think that is money well spent, given the other possibilities, lawsuits, resignations, or even tax penalties because those too could trigger the untimely resignations.

9. I don't know -
I think he's been in place long enough to have known this was coming, and to have done something about it.

And I think his excuse about losing employees is bs.

If they were so incredibly brilliant, why is their business in the toilet?

Let them leave.

10. Well, it's a typical ploy to just replace the dudes and then say, "I wasn't here"
then the corporation ends up getting off. End corporate personhood and that won't happen.
