The Husband Of Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren Is A ‘Protector Of The Palin Brand’
Source: ThinkProgress

During the presidential campaign, Fox News’s Greta Van Susteren had perhaps the best access to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin of any journalist. In September, she hosted a one-hour “documentary” on the GOP vice presidential candidate, titled “Governor Sarah Palin — An American Woman.” She also scored an exclusive interview with Todd Palin, in which she grilled him “on everything from the story behind the name ‘First Dude’ to how he feels about the name ‘First Dude.’”

After the election ended, Palin chose Van Susteren for her first national television interview. Since then, Greta has consistently covered Palin, keeping an eye out for any potential sleights of the governor and gushing over her popularity.

Yesterday, the Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza revealed one of the reasons that Van Susteren may have so much interest in and access to Palin. It turns out that her husband, John Coale, is one of “the figures charged with guiding Palin’s political image in Washington”:

.... Coale, in an interview with the Fix, described himself simply as a “friend” of the Alaska governor but acknowledged that he suggested she start a leadership PAC and helped her navigate through some of the questions surrounding her family that lingered after the campaign. Others familiar with Palin’s political team insist that Coale has far more power than he is letting on — essentially helping to run Sarah PAC. Coale demurred on that front, noting only that he talks to Palin regularly and that she is a “fascinating person” who is “definitely not what the right thinks or the left thinks.”

According to a Nexis search, starting on the day that Sarah Pac was announced, Van Susteren has never disclosed her husband’s behind-the-scenes role on air. ....

Looks like Greta is right at home at 'Fair and Balanced'. Not like she's hiding anything, has an agenda to push, or has any kind of personal stake. :sarcasm:

3. article fails to report
that John Coale has a huge CRUSH on Palin! Greta jokes about it, as Coale stares at her ass (see him at the finish line of iron dog race this year - find it on google). Another horny male who thinks she is "hot" and is thinking only with his smaller head. I keep wishing Greta would escape from him, escape from the cult, and escape from FOX - I am from her home town, grew up with her and her sister Lisa in Appleton, WI - so I guess my wishful thinking comes from me believing she is above all of this.

5. Maybe the aliens prophesied that a crazy bimbo would lead the world to total
destruction. Thereby allowing the master alien race to come and scoop us off and he's just doing his part.

18. I'd love to somehow connect Palin to Scientology
She fits their profile of people that they want in their cult.

Sure, it would destroy her with her fundy "base", but something about her husband just makes me wonder if there isn't something there.

Check this out.

He was supposedly a Dem, supporter of Hillary, etc., but told Newsweek the Democratic Party is "being taken over by the moveon.org types"....

That's straight out of right-wing radio.

This guy is a fucking dolt. He and Greta van Mushmouth deserve each other.

15. Wow! Great van Sustern has a husband! Will miracles never cease?
I suppose that just goes to prove the old adage that there is somebody out there for everybody.
Mr. Coale, I must say, you're a braver man than I.
