EVAN BAYH forming splinter group of Democrats
He just announced that 15 "moderates" are forming a coalition to prevent Obama from becoming too liberal.

Thanks, Evan. Time for you to be our target, not our partner.

1. I've never cared for him at all.
He reminds me of so many of the Democrats we have here in Oklahoma. Hard to tell them from Republicans.

I agree about him being a target and not our partner. I don't think he's been much of a partner for a long time.

2. Will his group be named "Republican Democrats" or would that be too honest for him? (NT)

19. The Problem With That is the Seat Would Go GOP
since Indiana is still a conservative state, even as it went for Obama this last election.

13. True.
Obama really is the moderate that Bayh pretends to be. Bayh is as far to the right of Obama as Obama is to the right of any real socialist.

They keep calling Obama 'far left' and 'socialist', and Bayh is pretending it's true.

10. They're gonna get an assful of splinters over this.
Are they nuts???? Fighting health care and climate change? Why the hell do they call themselves Democrats? Why don't they just declare themselves the captive representatives of insurance companies and Exxon, and get it over with!

I hope their constituents let them have it .... beginning NOW!

15. Time to tell them to form their own party of DLCers and leave ours
alone. Maybe the Greens will come back into the Party to replace them. Then we will have a truly progressive Democratic Party.

16. Donate to his opponent
When he runs again I will gladly donate to his opponent. I don't live in his state so I couldn't work against and I would if I lived there.

17. Evan is an Embarrassment for Those of Us Who Remember His Father, Birch,
who was and is a true liberal.

It's sickening how the standards have fallen.

20. Sounds like a splinter in the arse (like Blair)
Isn't he a successor to Dan Quayle's seat? Is it possible for a proper Democrat to be elected there?
