Watching the hearings. Here's how it works.
You sell insurance, take all the money for yourself and then quit. Who cares ? You are honored for being rich.

1. So, they really don't have consciences. Isn't that psychopathology?

2. Stan O'Neal got a $160 million dollar severance package
for 2 years work. These guys do not have any conscience, social awareness or anything except monetary fours. They sold insurance and then spent all the money. Then they could not service the insurance contracts. What gave them the right to take all that money for themselves and not back the policies they sold?

6. They didn't anticipate having to pay out for claims and that's
where the 'bailout' came in to play.

8. Was the amount they had to keep to payout claims
determined by risk managers who were influenced by CEO's to get more money to spend?

9. No. it is determined by the value of the underlying assets
of a CDS, which at this point has deteriorated due to the current meltdowns.

3. Every company I have worked for since 1998 has functioned like that
It was really bad at the tail end of the Internet bubble. It seemed like the goal of business then was to suck up as much funding as possible, make the CEOs rich and then shut it down. Same thing that's happening now, except the tax payers are providing the funding.

And people wonder why I am so down on capitalism. I've seen it fail, up-close with my own eyes.

5. How do they determine how close they can cut it
so there is enough money to operate on til they get out of town? They are basically stealing money, right? When they determine how much these CEO's get, they have to look at how much money there is to steal and still make it look like they are not crooks, until now ?

4. I cashed out my AIG life insurance policies in Oct. 2008. I had them since 1970 when I bought them
from a company called American General.
