4. Still the #2 import behind oil

There is an over supply with new players in the world market. Prices are dropping. But I don't see that at the store.

6. Uh, this has nothing to do with our consumption
This has to do with poor harvests. That means the price for a cup of mud is going to go up, probably considerably, at least 10%.

Just hope it's not due to permanently changed weather patterns from climate change or you're going to find something else to wake you up in the morning.

8. I saw some harvest numbers but didn't really go too deep in it.

The harvest numbers mostly weren't as low as the production numbers, I did see that much.

7. Funny you should mention it - I just finished
The Coffee Trader - Author: David Liss - Novel (Coffee trading in the 1600s when it was a brand new beverage in Europe)

The Various Flavors of Coffee - Author: Anthony Capella - Novel (Basically, a sometimes love story w/political overtone issues like slavery, suffrage, and free trade).

Talk about manipulating markets!

9. Starbucks, maybe?
Just wondering what percentage of our coffee consumption is Starbucks related.

Their significant downturn may explain this.
