Michele Bachman Says "Socialized Medicine" will be a "Magnet" for Illegal Aliens

from the dumpmichelebachmann blog:

Bachman Says "Socialized Medicine" will be a "Magnet" for Illegal Aliens

C-SPAN

"We haven't even talked yet about socialized medicine. We talked a little bit about cap and tax. We haven't even talked about socialized medicine. Find me one model anywhere in the world where socialized medicine has delivered better care at a cheaper cost. You want to talk about tax increases, socialized medicine will break the bank in the United States, because now President Obama even voted for the SCHIP bill, which we all know will now for the first time swing the door wide open for illegal aliens. I know one thing, the people in my district are not interested in paying for the health care for illegal aliens that are coming across our border to be yet one more magnet to bring people in that should come here legally. That is a very real concern that we are addressing, and that is why I think people are so concerned right now about what they are seeing on the taxing climate."

... egads... there's more...

"We are losing freedom by the boatload. That's the difference between, I think, what the Republican agenda is and the Democrat agenda. We believe in the Constitution. We believe in the first amendment, religious freedom, freedom of speech. We believe in the second amendment, the right to hold and bear arms. We believe in these important values. We believe in bedrock values for our country.

Marriage should be between a man and a woman; life should be protected from the moment of conception. We believe in these values. We believe in securing our Nation. We believe in taking on the enemy and winning and not being ashamed to win.

One thing we don't believe in are open borders. We don't believe that we should have open borders. We believe that we should deal with the drug problem that is coming across, and the illegal alien problem. And we believe in low taxes. We don't believe in high taxes. And our country will change forever if this new energy tax comes in." .........(more)

6. Illegal aliens?
This Minnesota Congressnitwit is worrying about illegal aliens streaming across the border... from Canada? And is that twit aware that even the Mexican immigrants aren't coming to the U.S. any more because there are no jobs?

Bachmann possesses genuine weapons-grade stupidity. She's amazing.

28. Actually she does have very good insurance, and it just so happens to be taxpayer funded.
All members of Congress have access to excellent socialized medicine paid for in full by us taxpayers. Bachmann and her ilk have no problem with the government paying for their health care, but they scream about Socialism the moment that anyone suggests that the government should pay for health care for the poor.

8. Universal Healthcare will be for Citizens and legal aliens only... other people
simply will need to be deported... Bachman is wrong... with Universal Healthcare we cannot afford to heal undocumented workers.

It will reduce the amount of undocumented workers since everyone in the hospital will have to prove their status to get treatment.

13. The number of undocumented workers will not be reduced until
corporate America wants them to go away. As it is, they are leaving because there are no jobs.

And it's very bad public health policy to allow untreated, ill individuals to wander around. But heaven forbid we do the smart thing when we could be denying health care to people who build our economy.

15. Canada has very strict immigration policies. So do most other countries -

with socialized medicine. If throngs of Americans started pouring into Canada, they'd be promptly sent back. It isn't fair to compare the US with other countries such as Canada, as the same immigration issues don't apply.

18. Umm, I don't think Canada's immigration policies are much more strict than those in the U.S.
...... Have you been to a Canadian city? Much of their growth is fueled by immigrants.

21. I grew up there, have paid many, many tax dollars into the system.

You're talking about immigrants who've immigrated legally. I can guarantee you that even to immigrate legally, the restrictions are tougher. For instance, if you have a health condition that may place a burden on the system, they don't want you. The US doesn't have a long list in that area because you yourself are beholden to purchasing your health care. (I believe tuberculosis and AIDs are the two on the list.) The Canadian system also has no ability to absorb huge numbers of undocumented immigrants, and have never had the kind of issues in that area the US traditionally has.

12. Has anyone explained to Michelle that other countries already
have national health plans and they don't need to come here for treatment? Though, one of the ironies of our current system is that people fly in from all over the world to go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, but many Minnesotans have insurance that won't allow them to go to Rochester (in Minnesota when we say "go to Rochester" it usually means "go to the Mayo Clinic").

I mean, to get this level of bat-shit crazy you normally have to go to some sort of fancy import store. Bachmann is 100% homegrown USDA bat-shit crazy, which proves that when America puts it's nose to the grindstone, we can compete in the global market on just about anything.

Seriously, folks in the humor biz up here LOVE her.

Peace

Just to say whatever she thinks will please her fellow repugs. Just bash the other side. Not enough brain power there to ever come up with any ideas of her own.
