Who else finds HuffPo an increasingly slow to load website?
It may just be my computer, but Huffington Post is the only website I visit where everything just seems to come to a screeching halt. It certainly is top heavy with flash graphics, etc. Scrolling especially seems to be naggingly slow and hence quite irksome. I've noticed it to be a growing problem over the last few weeks or so, maybe longer.

Anyone else find this to be the case?

6. They may have a lot of safeguards on that site ...

... to keep the freeper pranksters from doing anything malicious. That could slow things down.

8. That site has a buttload of scripts
...and that auto-refresh crap that I despise.

Use Firefox with the NoScript plugin. That should help with the load times on HuffPo.

12. Firefox! Why didn't I think of that!
Good call!:toast:

(And yes...I hate that auto-refresh crap too...verrrrry irritating. I think that might have a TON to do with the problem)

17. Be warned
Turning off scripts messes with the images. You'll see a lot of blank spaces where graphics used to be.

10. Yes, I have the same problem.
It happened with my old computer and it happens now that I have a new computer, so I know it's not my computer. I have noticed that the site is easier to look at with Firefox than IE.

14. I can hardly use it now
As you say, it takes forever to load and change from one topic to another - really frustrating, and I have supposedly "high speed" cable. It's almost as slow as dial-up. Frustrating, for sure!

15. Huffpo looks like the inside of a goat's stomach
Fucking yellow seeping all over the place. Useless quick reads. Try doing a browser search for a word. You cannot find it among all the highlighted crap spewed on the page. Obviously maintained by a drunken ADD webmaster on crystal meth.

16. Using Firefox + Adblock + Flashblock add ons
make it much, much better. Makes most sites much, much better.
