One response to Governor Sanford from a Rethug legislator:
Even fellow conservative Republicans in South Carolina were troubled by Sanford's Zimbabwe remarks, including 29-year veteran state senator and finance-committee chairman Hugh Leatherman. "That was one of the most asinine comments any elected official could make," Leatherman, 78, told TIME. "I'm as conservative a person as ever walked the planet, but I also consider myself a compassionate person who tries to make sure our people are taken care of. Our people are hurting, and I'm going to fight as hard as I can to get as much of that federal money into this state as I can."

Leatherman is meaner than hell, but he does try even if it's for his own good. He is no saint by any means, but compared to Sanford, he looks downright saintly. Making Leatherman look saintly is hard to do.

1. i heard a bit about this where someone, not sure if it was sanford or someone else,
when talking about that school that is in shambles said they could fix it with their own money. if they have money, then why the hell haven't they already fixed the damned thing!! i want to know if sanford has school aged children. if so, what school do they go to. lets juxtapose pictures of the sanford kids school experience vs that awful excuse for a school that sure looks like a health hazzard and a liability. what kind of a country is this that kids should be expected to learn in a school like that!! if sanford had kids going to that school, you can be darn sure it wouldn't be allowed to exist in such a deplorable state!!
