Job fair in Cleveland today -- traffic backed up for miles
DH was almost late for his dr. appointment because he was stuck in traffic. The interstate was backed up and when he finally got off to see what was going on, there were police directing traffic and hordes of people snaked around the building in the rain waiting to get in. Not a single file line -- a huge crowd with more arriving. Parking lot totally full, people using nearby lots. How many more said screw this and kept driving.

OMFG. Words fail.

2. Stay brilliant, businesses.
The longer you don't collectively announce a firing freeze, the worse your businesses, and this economy, are going to get.

Unemployed people don't buy stuff.

Underemployed people don't buy stuff.

People that are scared that they'll be fired don't buy stuff.

Them's the facts, chincho-chive.

You no give-a-da people a hopeful sign, you no getta-da-bidness. CAPICE?

YOU have to make the first move. NOT us.

Up to you.

4. From the story
And it doesn't look like there were many jobs there anyway.

"For example, Merrill-Lynch was offering 401(k) advice and other booths were offering educational opportunities."
