GOP Rep: “Our Goal Is To Bring Down Approval Numbers” For Dems
http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/house-republicans/gop-rep-our-goal-is-to-bring-down-approval-numbers-for-dems/

GOP Rep. Patrick McHenry, a key player in helping craft the Republican message, has offered an unusually blunt description of the Republican strategy right now.

McHenry’s description is buried in this new article from National Journal (sub. only):

“We will lose on legislation. But we will win the message war every day, and every week, until November 2010,” said Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., an outspoken conservative who has participated on the GOP message teams. “Our goal is to bring down approval numbers for Pelosi and for House Democrats. That will take repetition. This is a marathon, not a sprint.”

McHenry’s spokesperson, Brock McCleary, tells me his boss is standing by the quote.

1. I see. And saving the country comes, what, last to these assholes?
I am SO tired of them.

They lose on MESSAGE too, because all they have is the same-old same-old, 'cut taxes, cut taxes, squawk!'

7. A few pertinent quotes from Adolf Hitler's MEIN KAMPF
The function of propaganda is, for example, not to weigh and ponder the rights of different people, but exclusively to emphasize the one right which it has set out to argue for. Its task is not to make an objective study of the truth, in so far as it favors the enemy, and then set it before the masses with academic fairness; its task is to serve our own right, always and unflinchingly.

Sounds like Patrick McHenry's strategy, right? But wait, there's more...

The receptivity of the great masses is very limited; their intelligence is small, but their power of forgetfulness is enormous. In consequence of these facts, all effective propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these slogans until the last member of the public understands what you want him to understand by your slogan...

Granted, a lot of advertisers throw slogans around all the time. But here's another little morsel...

The first task of propaganda is to win people for subsequent organization; the first task of organization is to win men for the continuation of propaganda. The second task of propganda is the disruption of the existing state of affairs and the permeation of this state of affairs with the new doctrine, while the second task of organization must be the struggle for power, thus to achieve the final success of the doctrine.

The primary GOP goal is to bring down approval numbers for Pelosi and for House Democrats. The ultimate mission is to make President Obama fail, and thus make America fail.

With blueprints courtesy of the madman of the Third Reich.

I'm not going to defend Republicans but you are delusional if you think they both aren't out to take each other down.

10. There are, however, different underlying motives
The GOP, like Hitler and Manulski, tend to think of Americans as stupid and amnesiac. We have a more optimistic view of Americans - we like to think of each person having potential for their own form of greatness, if they only had the freedom to realize it. Freedom from poverty, freedom from illness, freedom from worrying about when their next paycheck will show up in the mail, that sort of thing.

17. Here is a question for you
Did you notice the last 8 years when the last administration was in power, you can't find one quote about the Dems wanting him to fail. There was no need to, he did that on his own.
What you heard was he needed to modify his plans because what he was doing wasn't working. No Dem was rooting against America to lose, you know it and I know it.

The previous administration was as close to making America a Christian Taliban country and was in the process of making the US a police state.

I find it interesting that people act as if the last 8 years didn't happen and that the hate and fear mongering never happened.

President Obama went into office with his hand outstretched to the Republicans and they spit in his face. He is still trying to reach out to them and yet they still turn their backs on him and his efforts.

Did the Republicans reach out to the Democratic party while they were in power? No, they didn't they were so busy filling their coffers from Corporate America and too busy screwing the middle class they didn't have time for negotiating.

22. Odd, you never got a reply, did you.

I have had to point out to people that just because we have a Dem Pres and congress, the repubs are still blocking everything, making it difficult to get things done. They were surprised since they didn't know this could happen. Sometimes I weary.

Thank you for the good post and I'm watching litespeed now.

15. What arrogrance by a first rate jerk
It was McHenry that was in Baghdad and got all incensed when denied access to Saddam Hussein's gym because the US military said there were security concerns.. McHenry got all huffy. Used a cell phone to complain.. Some charges were his use of the cell revealed co-ordinates to terrorists prompting rocket attacks on the Green zone.

19. After November 2010, the Republicans will only have 35 Senators
The Republican Party is self destructing before our eyes.

They will only have 35 Senators after the 2010 election, and the people in the center-right will form a new political party when the Republicans sent to the sidelines in 2012.

We need to hasten the demise of the Republican Party by utterly crushing them politically at every opportunity. Republicans are a pox on the United States and need to be eliminated yesterday.

What an odd, unpleasant person. What is he doing in Washington, D.C., after all?
