1. yeah
Media Matters has a thing about the misleading graph that MSNBC has been using the past week. They have been using it every fucking day.

3. Heh. I remember a certain thread from the primaries called "I love Norah O'Donnell"
I almost lost my lunch over that one. And so many DUers on that thread ARGUED with me about it!

4. Funny how that works, since even 7 and 8 years into Shrub's reign, it was Clinton's fault.
Edited on Mon Mar-09-09 03:05 PM by Rabrrrrrr
Those Democratic presidents must have a lot of power that Shrubbie was never able to change from Clinton's policies, and yet Obama seems to have utterly turned over everything Shrubbbie did in a matter of months.

Perhaps Shrubbie shouldn't have taken so much vacation.

I wish the media would do its goddamned job and call the Republicans on their two-faced, lying-out-both-sides-of-their-mouth bullshit.

25. Maybe they realize how screwed they are, so they're hiding it by putting it right up front

in the open.

Hoping people will go, "Wait? Did they just say that? Didn't they say something completely opposite that a few minutes ago? NAAAAAAH - couldn't be that, no one's that fucking stupid. It's impossible. It has to be me mis-hearing it."

6. I seem to remember the Obama camp reminding people we had "one president at a time"
Meanwhile, from Nov to Jan, the one president we had did almost nothing. You have to assume the plan was to minimize any association we had between Bush and the financial crisis.

11. Rush talking points
had this thrown at me from a ditto head several weeks ago. But they say the stock market started tanking the minute he got the nomination. The thing is, I am sure the Repugs knew this was coming, they just hoped that it would wait and then completely come apart when a Dem was elected. They couldn't hold back the flood gates of their greed though. Now they are trying to push it on Obama and of course the MSM complies because they are all just corporate shills.

12. Stupid, but hardly worse than a small DU contingent that wanted Obama impeached by mid November
Edited on Mon Mar-09-09 03:20 PM by HamdenRice
Let's see, what have we ourselves blamed Obama for so far? Supporting the bailout, Warren-gate, not bringing home the troops already, Prop 8 (it was all Obama's fault), announcing he was going to continue torture, protecting Rove, throwing single payer under the bus, etc., etc., etc.

There were Obama impeachment threads here before he was even sworn in.

We can hardly blame an idiot like her for behavior, when so many of our "comrades" act exactly the same.

It is sometimes followed with a whispy disclaimer.. slipped out sotto voce just before they go to break.."of course it began the decline much earlier. . . ("and out")

15. Oh Noron, yew sillee basterd.
This is what happens when you have 28 years of Monopoly money economics as the rule. Eventually, someone's going to realize it's not worth the paper it's printed on.

InHERITED. Not CAUSED. Inherited. Lay off the crack, stupid.

16. Well, that's fine
but we should remember that between the time Bush was nominated and inaugurated, oil tripled in price. Oh and the stockmarket dropped, changing direction from a rise.

17. The market has dropped as swindles from the past are exposed
Trillions on the books that companies like AIG didn't have. The mortgage crisis plus the CDO and banking crisis that leveraged off it are what has caused most of the direct drop, and most of the rest is due to the real economy reacting to all this loss in wealth and liquidity. All set in motion during the lax years of the Bush presidency. May as well graph a boulder that got shoved down a hill and blame some guy near the bottom when it rolls past.

18. Just curious...?
Where was the stock market on January 20th, 2009? I know that a little over a year ago, it was over 14,000. Is that where it was at when Obama took the Presidency?
