R.N.C. Chairman Apologizes to Limbaugh in Flap Over His Role
By Adam Nagourney
The new chairman of the Republican National Committee, Michael Steele, apologized to Rush Limbaugh on Monday after describing him in a television interview over the weekend as an “entertainer” who made incendiary and sometimes ugly remarks, party officials said.

Mr. Steele called Mr. Limbaugh after the radio host belittled Mr. Steele on his show, questioning his authority and saying the new Republican leader was off “to a shaky start.”

“It’s time, Mr. Steele, for you to go behind the scenes and start doing the work that you were elected to do instead of trying to be some talking head media star, which you’re having a tough time pulling off,” Mr. Limbaugh said, in a transcript of his remarks he posted on his Web site.

“Mr. Steele: You are head of the R.N.C.,” Mr. Limbaugh said. “You are not head of the Republican Party. Tens of millions of conservatives and Republicans have nothing to do with the R.N.C. and right now they want nothing to do with it.”

If Steele had any balls he would have stood his grounds. Instead Steele caved to a lying sack-of-shit who has a history of abusing drugs and taking sex vacations to the Dominican Republic. This is the leader of the Republican party - Rush Limbaugh. Enjoy the next 20-30 years of democratic majority.

I have alot of respect for several of the liberals who have a voice in the Media like Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddows, Sam Sedar to name a few but the moment our party caves to the dictatorship of one of these media personalities is the moment our party will start to falter. That doesn't mean our party shouldn't listen to what these people are saying but we shouldn't be appointing them the 'voice of the party'.

1. Agree. But if we DO cave to a personality, I hope it's Emmylou Harris.

6. Hi, LynneSin. Ol' Rush never appeared to address the dysfunction in
his condemning people who use illicit drugs and his own illicit drug use.

He did condemn them, pretty much across the board, yet in his own use he is a commercially successful multi-millionaire.

If all drugs are all bad for everyone, how come he's so rich?

We never get that angle from Limbaugh. We only get the anti-progessive bile.

11. Yes, ma'am. He did say so, more than once.
He loves those kinds of rants.

I'll stand with you in waiting for him to own up to his own policies.

Limbaugh is the equivalent of Moe Greene from The Godfather. Steele is Fredo.

4. Steele's mistake - Acknowledging Limbaugh at all.
He should have said "no comment".

All Limbaugh wants is attention. He could care less that he's humiliating a Republican.

5. Wow. What a pathetic group of nutless wonders the GOP has become, bowing before
a narc-addled entertainer. The party continues its implosion. Nothing left but to stand back and watch.

12. No picture necessary - you used "Rush Limbaugh" and "in the hot tub" in the same sentence.
"Scary" was understood!

10. Isn't this the 2nd time Steele has apologized to drugRush?
Didn't Steele have to call the almighty to beg forgiveness just after he was elected leader? I'll bet this won't happen again. If it does Rushie will fire Steele.

17. Rush and his minions over at freeperville are exposing their
real issue with Steele:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2198049/posts

Why, he's an "affirmative Action failure" of course. Every day in every way they expose a little bit more of their true reptile skin. GOP will soon be known for what they are,the party of ignorant racist old men. Good luck with that.

18. Yay Further removing themselves from the main stream
Rush, Savage, (Maybe Hannity)and their ilk do not really believe this crap. They are all about the self aggrandizement. They will throw this party off a cliff if it fattens their wallets. If Rush truly cared,he would have let this slip instead of showing minorities what the score really is.They will stick with this death grip, insular policy until they are down to the crazy vote only. I really hoped Steele would stick to his guns and force a real showdown.

Yes, every day African Americans wake up and ask themselves how they are ashamed the system is rigged to benefit them. This revelation coming from a guy with a name like TrailerPark Badass is especially insightful, as I am sure he has many friends of different creeds and ethnicity.

should change their name to "trailer park badass",I think that pretty much sums up what they've got left.

20. I don't know which is sadder
That the republicans felt they had to pick a black man so they could compete with Barack Obama or that they picked a black man and they aren't even giving him a fair chance to be successful, evident with the rest of the republicans listening to Limbaugh over Steele.

23. What is really sad is that they believe parading a woman or a
minority around to promote their anti-woman,anti-minority agenda actually means anything to anybody. They are truly stupid.

24. Steele was to the African-American community what Palin was to be for women
and the thing is - the rest of the country wasn't buying it. It takes more than skin color or a pair of ovaries to fool the rest of the country.
