A very good read is Philip Roth's THE PLOT AGAINST AMERICA.

If you like history generally and appreciate historical novels of variable interpretations, this novel is well worth a look.

Actually it's worth a look no matter what, but especially in light of Limbaugh's radio cultural nucleus among rightwing listeners today (as a 'similar' radio host plays the role of cultural arbiter in the novel, set just before the 1940 presidential election).

reading kapuscinski's voyages with herodotus, and some trotsky...could use a break though...cheers...
