Yea 48 Nay 50

Senate's Supplemental Iraq bill similar to House Bill that passed: HR 1591 - Additional 2007 Spending; $122 Billion for Iraq & Afghanistan, to begin withdrawl in 120 days ending March 31, 2008.

Thad Cochran's (R-MS) amendment deletes the troop withdrawal timetable. Keeps benchmarks and report requirements.

Reid saying well over 100 amendments have been offered on this bill. "It is a legislative mess. This is an unusual piece of legislation." Cloture vote in the morning. Will work into the night. Will not have a vote on the bill anytime soon. McConnell says he thinks they are getting it sorted out on Repub side. Call for Quorum now.

8. Yes. * will use the veto and there aren't enough votes for an override
but the WH still comes out as the loser. It will be interesting to see how (or if) the MSM covers this vote.

6. Ben Nelson (D) and Chuck Hagel (R) voted against amendment
which was a change from their stance on a previous similar vote.

9. Hagel gave a moving speech about his frustration. Sounded a bit like a DUer.

11. He certainly does on Iraq
Much better than Lieberman, anyway. He still is pretty conservative on most other issues, but maybe some day he will see the light and on come over from the dark side.

12. Lieberman sounded like an effin' idiot today. Threw out a bunch of straw men
arguments. Was SO offensive. I was yelling at the TV.

14. At the risk of having you yell at your computer too,
for those that didn't catch it, here is some of Lieberman's floor speech today. h/t Think Progress
