Fresh from Disney World: Gov. Jindal defends message of his GOP speech
snip:

"BATON ROUGE, La. – Widely panned for his national TV address, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal offered his first defense of the speech Monday, saying he sticks by the message, while acknowledging shortcomings in his delivery.

"Look, I get that people thought I could have spoken better. I get that. That's fine ... What's important to me is the content. I'm a policy guy. You guys know that. I've always been a policy guy, always will be a policy guy. The ideas are important. The substance is important," Jindal told reporters in the state Capitol, a day after returning from a family vacation.

The 37-year-old governor, regularly touted as a presidential contender, said he outlined a critical philosophical distinction between the views of Democrats and Republicans as he gave the national GOP response to Obama's first address to Congress last week.

...

Jindal called "a diversion" the claims that his criticism of government spending was hypocritical because he continues to push for hurricane recovery spending, particularly money to repair levees in the New Orleans area damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The governor said the federal government failed to design and build the levees properly, so the federal government should repair them to the promised standard and help the state recover from the resulting damage."I think that is a simple concept: You break it, you buy it," Jindal said.
And despite the repeated criticism over the last week, the Louisiana governor refused any suggestion he might hire a speechwriter."

1. Oh, sure, the IDEAS are important - even if you make them up
Like that one idea that the Guv was standing there with the Baton Rouge sheriff after Katrina during that phone call? Hilarious!

2. Is it just me, or was it the content that made the speech shitty.
He pretty much told people in the midst of a scary economic crisis "fuck the government. They're big and inefficient. It's better for prayer and small groups of people to solve all the world's problems." This may sound logical until one realizes the scope of our problems. Individuals cannot save the economy.

3. And his "You broke it you fix it" crap undermines his own arguments.
Who broke it? GWB's government. So the government must fix it.

5. What? Is he now the policy guy for Pottery Barn?
No it wasn't how you said it. It was what you were saying.

Sheesh. These guys keep Comedy Central in business. Don't you get it! Stop being stupid, and you'll put Jon Steward out of a job.

Sorry Bobby, but it was not just the delivery. What you said was pretty lame too. Same old republican rhetoric, less taxes and less government involvement even if these have not worked in the past. The republicans are still living in the lala land of Reagan and refuse to admit that the country voted against those ideas last November.
We voted to give Obama a chance, so let's do it for gosh sake!

It was not only your delivery, it was the amateur look on your face. You looked like a deer caught in the headlights of an ondoming car. Bobby you were not impressive and it shows that you are not in the same league as the big boys. Stay in Louisiana and get more training.

How can Jindal be critical of money for volcano monitoring when we are asking for BILLIONS more for levee protection? Are the citizens of Alaska less important? Would he imply that people living in the area around the volcano are too stupid to leave well ahead of time? Seems like we in Louisiana have heard that before. And one more time, there is nothing in the stimulus bill about a magnetic levitation rail line from Las Vegas to Anaheim, Calif., IT’S NOT IN THE BILL. Money is allocated to the Department of Transportation, and the secretary of transportation, a republican, Ray LaHood, appointed by President Obama will determine where the money will be spent.

BJ, you are a gifted orator when you speak from the heart. It's your insincerity that ruined your speech.

You were told what to say and you went along willingly, trying a little too hard to please your suitors.

8 years of Bush have left even the most gullible among us knowing that you're only telling us things you think we want to hear so you can get elected and then use your newly bestowed power to serve your true masters, the elite class, the corporations.

Update your focus groups, brush up on your math,
because 2 wars + trillion dollar bailouts + govt. corruption does not add up to less government or lower taxes.

Find a new way to bull$*%t us into electing you, cause we're not as dumb as you look.
