Repukes, quit b!tching about the budget.
We NEED money for our failing schools, Green Technology so we can rebuild the economy, and Healthcare. We might as well do all of this at once instead of doing it one at a time.

1. If what I've been hearing is correct...
The budget can be jammed through the Senate with a straight majority vote - the Rethugs won't be able to filibuster it, so we might as well let them bitch, and then jam the budget down their throats, and attach health care reform and energy reform to it since the Rethugs can't block that either.

All they can do is make noise.

6. This is a double edged sword...
If the stimulus/budget pulls us out of the recession then the GOP looks bad, REAL bad.

If the economy does not turn around by election 2010, look for the GOP to pick up
seats as they can then point the finger and say "Obama's plan didnt work; we knew it , and didnt vote for it" also, blaming it on Bush wont work by 2010. The party in power gets the blame whether it earned itor not.

So lets hope things turnaround, soon. Obama needs to start preaching optimism.

3. Some pundits are reminding us that while we recognize the GOP
opposition: Obama may hit a buzz-saw in his own party. Reporters
could not be saying these things without hearing it directly from
Democrats on the Hill. We need to carefully watch for Democratic
Opposition.

The Republicans warned us early on they be the Loyal Opposition Party
and so far they are keeping their word.

4. I think that the budget is using a negotiate down tactic.
The administration took criticism by asking for too little and then having that get pared down. I think that this budget is big, knowing that the GOP/Blue Dogs will negotiate down and then we'll have a budget that we'll be happy with.

5. They need to give back part of that money that Bush handed them in tax breaks...
...to fix their failing companies, and they don't want to. Assholes. Their investment and insurance companies crashed when they bundled up mortgage backed securities and sold them to China and India to make a quick buck. Now they are whining that they don't want to fix it now. They want us to.

Well, guess what. Fuck them...their companies lost hundred of billions of dollars when their scams failed...they can bite the bullet and fix what they fucked up
