The Iceland Meltdown - it's coming here
http://discuss.epluribusmedia.net/node/3763

It's been a busy week in Iceland. Former Prime Minister and head of the Central Bank, Davið Oddson has finally stepped down. That may sound voluntary - but it wasn't. Parliament (Alþingi) had to pass a new law to remove him from power. He did not go quietly into the night but rather kicking and screaming. Somewhat literally.

There's a wonderful video that really absolutely everyone should watch to better understand what's happened in Iceland. It's creator is Birgitta Jonsdottir, a political activist and poet. She also narrates the short film in English. It's posted on her facebook page and at her blog - The Amazing Adventures of Joy B - just double click the image to launch.

ICELAND

What worries me is the fact there is no emergency plan in Iceland on how to deal with the crisis. There is only the plan on how to get re-elected. We need urgently expert help on how to uproot corruption that is buried so deep that we are ranked among the least corrupt nation in the world, according to international standards.

What a sick joke.

2. And what further worries me is the possibility of a societal and social meltdown as a result
of this going across our country. Watching Rush Limbaugh at CPAC yesterday, I was concerned about the level of anger, outrage, even hatred by the audience. It's there whether or not you want to acknowledge it. Now if these audience members and their brethren have their material goods lessened if not removed and their middle class icons of house, job, and future taken away from them, imagine what they will do with their frustration, more anger, and demand for restoration of their lives. I've more or less just described Weimar Germany when Hitler got elected. People will follow any leader who will feed them and tell them to blame someone.

3. that is a scary thought, especially when you toss in the
amount of firearms available to them and the absolute hands off policy towards right wing radio. If the puppet masters can make those people that lose their homes concentrate on the brown skinned, the union members, the gays and anything but the bankers and financial interests, it will be a scary place in this country for years to come.

6. A few weeks ago I posted a link to the documentary
Life and Debt about Jamaica under IMF orders. Every American should watch that.
Now the politicians from the pro IMF party are back in power telling us to eat what we grow. It would be funny if this country hadn't been destroyed by violence, devaluations and deregulation.

Here's a link.
