Let us all bow our heads and pray for President Bush...
So say a strong Bush backing cspan caller from Tennessee:

“It don’t matter to me what color the president is… male or female, it don’t matter. The US needs to stand behind our president. He is doing everything that I feel is right. I don’t think he is doing no wrong. They’ve got like John F. Kennedy, they got him like on a high pedestal, he was nothing but a whore…and he is just the greatest thing here. The US needs to stand and pray for our president and quit letting these other countries know that we are fighting him against everything that he does. We need to stand beside him and pray for him…and pray for the country.”

I love those cspan callers. They make me smile....especially the republicans. But do you notice since Bush took the office, republicans always say "our president" instead of "the president"? When Clinton and others before him were the president, you didn't hear people always say "our president". I don't get that.

1. If I went by calls on C-Span, I'd think his support was way higher
than 30-odd percent.

I can hardly stand to watch, but still I do. So many crackpots...

3. I think they're beginning to dread taking calls on the Republican Line.
The callers are so damned loopy that it, ahem, doesn't reflect well on the base.

4. "I don't think he is doing no wrong." Thats at least a double negative huh?
So what the caller meant was that they believe he is doing wrong? Its that magic education stuff that continues to elude conservatives. Hell they don't have to know anything, all ya gotta do is believe and pray.

36. I recall
our Instructor in High School Debate, Sophomore Year (1970) gave a lesson on never saying "I don't think." Always phrase your position in the positive. Excellent advice. However with conservatives, saying I don't think would be the honest approach.

5. Right.
If Obama becomes President, that same person will undoubtedly curse that a person of color is our leader. If Hillary becomes President, that person will claim that she isn't capable of being the leader.

when sending a dead person off at a funeral.

10. Here's how to start a proper prayer for bush: O! Prince of Darkness! O evil one!
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 02:47 PM by HamdenRice
Lord of the flies, destroyer of worlds! Look after your annointed one on the surface, as opposed to in the bowels, of the earth.

And may his familiar, tumor of evil Cheney, guide your son in his work in the great work of their evil doing.

Just sayin. Not that I would actually pray that way, but to whom else, and how else could anyone pray for these two?

They smugly attended an auto da fe and prayed for crown and church without giving a second through to the barbarism they were helping to foster.

34. And how. This one is right up there with a caller that calls in all the
time from Arkansas that claims that she knows the Clinton's because they are from her back yard. :eyes: Then this guy from Texas that calls monthly whining about the Democrats and fussing at the moderators. And let's not forget about the guy that is supposedly blind that whines all the time in general and had the nerve to argue with Brian Lamb (Mr. CSPAN himself) on how he was pronouncing Bush's name. Lamb hung up on him. It was great!

32. I know of at least two b-ball teams attached to perfectly good colleges.
Rumors are they have football teams also attached to some schools.

Seriously, so many parts of Tennessee are simply gorgeous, and I have always enjoyed meeting people from that state. They are even polite to a yankee like mois. Unless I slip in a french word or three.

29. Prayer is good, even for one's enemies.
As many years as he’s walked on his feet, let him walk on his hands, and for the rest of the time he should crawl along on his ass.

God should bestow him with everything his heart desires, but he should be a quadriplegic and not be able to use his tongue.

I would pray this man come to an awakening:

Take up and read!

Romans 13:13, which reads: "Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying"

Bottom of the evolutionary barrel. I've noticed a big defection of the more...I guess you could call them articulate...types to the Independent line. They're pretty easily ID'd because they'll grudgingly criticize the Bush admin but always follow up with some jab at Clinton. :eyes:
