the question is, "how will dems capitalize on this Rush/GOP disaster"?
don't watch tv so cannot really say if the dems and supporters are taking advantage of any of this right wing demagoguery by running ads showing these anti-american and anti-obama remarks.

there is so much to use it seems, an endless parade of repubs say things like "I hope he fails" etc.

so are the dems and their fans doing anything in media way? Seems like now is the time for a PR campaign to seperate moderate republicans from the hysterical fascist overlords: "We welcome you, Come join the democratic party now" etc.

I can think of vids for youtube but they would probably be taken down (limbaugh mouthing off silently to an overdub of hitler speeches etc).

4. Govern effectively.
The GOP is showing itself to be a bunch of irrational whiners who aren't offering constructive ideas.

The best way to capitalize on this is to highlight the contrast between the two parties. How? By doing a good job running the country.

9. Dittoheads just want to be seen as right.
Dittoheads do not want the country to be run well by Democrats. If it cannot be run well by Republicans (and history tends to show that it, in fact, cannot) then they would rather it not be run well at all. They would rather see the country fail then give credit to Democrats. That's "country first" for you. :eyes:

6. I realized early on that Obama has a genius sense for politics.
During the campaign, every time some decision of his seemed questionable, it later became clear that he had it exactly right. I soon started saying to myself, "Obama is smarter than you." (LOL, that sounds like soppy hero-worship, not my style, but an observation in this case.) I have no reason to suspect it won't work out the same way here. Perhaps Obama is trying to push congressional Republicans into toeing Limbaugh's line (popular in the GOP but a small minority in the population as a whole) so that they'll be even more marginalized and easier to defeat in 2010 and 2012.

8. I know Rush said he hopes Obama fails and then tried to explain it away,
but we do need to be better with specific examples of Republicans who said similar things other than "an endless parade of repubs say things like "I hope he fails" etc". When it is denied I would really like to have specific examples to which to hold up.
