I'm overwhelmed.
I absolutely cannot keep up with all of these scandals anymore. I sometimes think Rove just does it on purpose, like a bratty little kid.

1. I don't think it is by accident
It's like being pulled over for speeding and while on the side of the road, a bank robber races by. The police chases the bank robber and pulls him over only to have a murderer drive by...ad infinitum.
At the end of the day, the guy caught speeding is totally forgotten.

3. I believe it is intentional
Just think of all the scandals we haven't talked about lately. Just overload us with your crimes and let the base whine about how evil liberals are just picking on the poor republicans in Washington with made up scandals.

5. I believe you are right
In that it is intentional but I think it is more likely meant to severely divide the moral people in this country who care about the injustices, the criminal activities, the needless blood spill and our constitutional rights and civil liberties. While giving us so many critical issues to focus on all of which are just as important as the next in pulling this country out of the crapper - the numbers stay low and the mass organizing is less likely. Chaos has always been a tool for the evil doers!

4. I just hope Rove messes up, they are too ignorant and cocky
to think they are above everything, hopefully those "smirks" will be gone.

6. Reminds me of "the Talented Mr Ripley".
He keeps committing more crimes to escape being caught for the last one.

7. I think a lot of people in government do not support the administration and are trying to get the
truth out. I've heard congress critters say they have other sources that have come forward and will get the complete story on the firing of the USA's but are waiting until the administration refuses to cooperate.

8. Not accidental at all....Totally an intentional tactic
They do as much shit as they can all at once everywhere. You run around pointing at all of the fires, and pretty soon you have crisis fatigue and their party faithful think you are a loon for bitching about everything they do, even though you are right.

TOTALLY an intentional tactic.

10. The Meta-Scandal
I have started to think of this administration as one interlocking scandal in which the resources of government have been used for partisan advantage in elections, enriching cronies, and enriching the Bush appointees who have been appointed to positions in which they can manage government resources for these purposes. They have sought to politicize the entire machinery of government: the judiciary, federal prosecutors, the DOD, the GSA, the regulatory agencies, the various executive departments--everything they control. It's probably a good thing that voting is handled at the state level, since state Republicans have exhibited a willingness to use the power of the state to effect voting and the counting of votes; if the feds controlled it, we would probably still have a Republican congress. The various scandals that have come to light are not anamolies, they represent business as usual and are a product of the governing philosophy of the current leadership of the national Republican party. That philosophy, as near as I can tell, is do whatever you have to do get a elected and grab whatever you can once you are in office. It is a Republican version of Tamany Hall, boss politics at the national level.

In truth they stand for nothing but greed and self-agrrandisement. Conservative principles have long since been abandoned and policy positions are just tactics for getting elected. Enriching oneself through influence peddling, use of inside knowledge, steering contracts to cronies, and so forth is the main purpose for a Republican political career these days, at least at the national level.

11. I am disappointingly underwhelmed.
I was expecting something to break today. The weekend seemed to light a fuse to something so explosive that it might knock Ann Nicole of the front pages.

Oh well, there's an hour or so left in the news day.
