2. To be honest,
It was during Bush's term that an agreement was signed to remove troops out completely by 2011. President Obama is just adding his personal touch to executing the agreement.

3. Obama has done nothing to make me think he'd benefit from the extension of 3 months.
16 months was the stated goal, but now that he is in the Oval Office, I trust that there is a reason that he added 3 additional months. Unlike his immoral predecessor, I don't think he is benefiting financially by keeping the troops there longer. So, there must be a good reason. I'm not happy about the whole damn invasion, so no, I'm not thrilled that it has to be 19 months, but I trust that there is a good reason and that this reason is well thought out and rational.

10. I think you misread the tone of my post.
I wasn't questioning why you wrote the OP. I was stating the reason for my vote. I was a bit surprised at the  , unless I am the one who misread your response post.

7. Be as careful about getting out as we were careless getting in.
If he concludes that it'll take the extra three months--after consultations with those on the ground--then three months is not a great big difference.

After this I'm all for keeping our people as safe as possible

13. Well, seeing as how quite a few of the military families interviewed after the speech agreed
with the withdrawal plan, I'll say YES.

If the military families, who have a direct vested interest in all this, much more than us keyboard commandos on DU, agree with President Obama, who am I not to do so as well?

15. One woman was sitting at obama's cam-left, she was stern while listening to every word...
and why not, as Obama spoke on you could see her flick a look off stage here & there; but when the gravity of what he was saying sunk in I could see a moment like when a light bulb snapped on almost like, "This CiC is going to make some changes"
