so when will Trudeau finally introduce Doonsbury readers to his Obama symbol?

I can't recall, but I suspect he was much quicker at bringing out the ever decreasing gladiator helmet for he who I can't bring myself to name.

I think that Trudeau should now have a pretty good sense of what our President is up to, and made of....and will unveil something that is a clever and respectful depiction.

2. Hopefully it will just be President Obama, no symbol.

3. Question because I don't follow/read Doonesbury...
Did Clinton, Poppy Bush, Raygun have a symbol, too?

5. I forget if Clinton had one...
But Poppy was just kind of a disembodied voice which showed up as an * when he spoke. Dan Quayle was a disembodied voice, but could be identified visually as a floating feather attached to the voice.

Reagan? I don't know, during that time I was more a Bloom County fan, and I believe there was an extended hiatus during the Reagan years.

6. Just looked it up on Wikipedia - here are all Trudeau's political symbols:
Edited on Fri Feb-27-09 05:01 PM by NRaleighLiberal
Gerald Ford and Kissinger just showed words coming from off-panel.
Ron Headrest for Raygun (based on Max Headroom) - computer generated AI
Poppy Bush invisible with sounds coming from a "point of light"
Dubya started out as a Stetson hat on a point of light, then a giant asterisk after the stolen election (a la Maris Home Run record), then the Roman military helmet to stand for imperialism.
Clinton - a waffle
Gingrich - lit bomb
Quayle - a feather
Ahhnold - a big groping hand

10. Most major public figures do; Trudeau's uncomfortable with caricature drawing
Jr's was hilarious, and rewarded paying close attention (e.g., when a screw came loose). He was a cowboy hat up until Iraq.

Ahnold's a giant groping hand.

4. This week has been reruns
of Rick losing his job at the Washington Post and starting a blog. Frankly, I'm getting tired of this--I want to see Obama!

11. I dunno... he's only been in office just over a month.
I could see Trudeau wanting to wait a few months to get a good feel for Obama's leadership style before deciding.
