Anyone else notice that? Perhaps Bush and his minions didn't hear about Elizabeth? Snow gets the prayers and Elizabeth gets Katie Couric.

1. "Some people say" snow should quit his job
I wish him well, but he needs to separate himself from bush. Making a living lying for a drug addicted corporate criminal by being an arrogant dick can not be good for a man with cancer.

3. Maybe it's because Snow is on his staff and he has
a personal relationship?

8. Nah--it's all political. (I happen to agree with you, cali.)
It's the difference between praying for someone who works closely with you and praying for the handshake-at-the-convention guy's wife.

If he had publicly prayed for Elizabeth Edwards he would have been shredded, anyway--and rightfully so, since it would have been clearly opportunistic.

4. Of course not!
That would be political theatre. :sarcasm:

I understand what you're saying, but as much as I abhor the Bushetals I'm not going to ding them for that. The WH made a statement about Elizabeth (through Snow, IIRC). Snow is part of the WH staff, though.

Now, if a Con from Congress turns up in the hospital under emergency conditions and the WH gets live TV for a prayer gathering, I might be pitching a fit because I haven't heard them issue any statements for Nick Lampson's health.

5. Elizabeth Edwards isn't his Press Secretary nor does she work for him in any way.
If he went out of his way to pray for everyone with cancer who wasn't in his employ, then when would he have time to drive golf balls and clear brush?

10. Well, now.
Bush works with Tony on a daily basis. It's not entirely inappropriate for Tony's illness to touch him more deeply than Mrs. Edwards' on a purely personal level.

He might have offered a prayer for all people dealing with cancer, I suppose.

12. I don't believe bush prays for anyone.
Except to the porcelain god on occasion.

11. I am more irritated with the way the media handled it.
Tony gets coverage non-stop for 2 days, Elizabeth gets "IT'S A TRICK!"
