Flowers For Tony Snow?
Of course Tony bats for the Dark Side - but I think that most of us feel bad for his new diagnosis.

Is there any interest in sending flowers or some other appropriate gift? We can show the Right that we practice what we preach - loving our neigbor as ourselves. Might set a good example.

9. I suggest donating to charity in his name, instead. How about The Juno Foundation?
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 10:02 AM by IanDB1
The Juno Foundation of Orlando is dedicated to lesbians with cancer, their partners and caregivers. The purpose of the foundation is to improve the health and well being of cancer patients through grants that are awarded by the Juno Foundation; to raise awareness and promote advocacy; and, to provide valuable resources and informational support on the many emotional and practical issues that arise from a cancer diagnosis.

The co-founders of the Juno Foundation of Orlando are Pati Williams and Genie Wood. Both founders have close friends or family members who have or are surviving cancer. It is through those personal experiences that they have created Juno's unique support model– a foundation that strives to honor survivors by helping other lesbians who may not have the support they need to battle their illness.

An individual does not get cancer, a family does. So, when you donate or support the Juno Foundation, you provide renewed hope for all our sisters living with cancer. Juno believes we can share of ourselves, come together and make a difference.

there is no appropriate *gift* for someone who has helped cause so much damage to this country. I wish him well, and hope for his recovery, but anything other than that? Nope. not at all.

16. Cancer is terrible, and I hope Snow gets well. He has served, however, as
an enabler for a criminal administration which has killed hundreds of thousands (the latest study says over a million) Iraqi citizens, men women and children.

Any man's illness or death is unfortunate.

We did not send flowers to Saddam's family.

I don't think we should send flowers to Snow.

Mr. Snow has the best health care in the world.

The Iraqis have none, and the US troops not much better.

She was very surprised by his later career choice.

I'm sorry that he is so ill, and I send my thoughts and prayers to him and his family. This is very bad news.

21. There's someone suffering with cancer in my own family
and I'm trying to help her out as much as I can - she has a lot of medical bills. I adore Elizabeth Edwards, and I don't adore Tony Snow but I certainly feel for him and his family, but I have limited money and people in my own family who need help.

29. Too bad he has cancer
I will save my money to buy an airline ticket to my uncle's funeral. He is in his last days of a horrible cancer that has spread throughout his body. A beautiful man. Salt of the earth.

I know it isn't "allowed" here but I could give a shit, really. His own venom ate up his body,

30. I have an idea - The perfect place to donate money on behalf of Tony
How about donating somewhere that will REALLY have an impact on Cancer research and Health care. Hey, I know one - The Edwards Campaign (As president John Edwards will be an incredible advocate for cancer research) but he has to get there first).

34. My Aunt is having surgery for thyroid cancer tomorrow

I think I will send her flowers. She is a lovely, kind, sweet woman. Why not send flowers to a person who is suffering from cancer, besides Tony Snow? (I am not suggesting sending flowers to my aunt! Just suggesting thinking of cheering up a good, regular everyday person who is suffering). I do not wish ill on Tony Snow, but I don't think very highly of him. I would much rather send flowers or donations in the name of a person I respect instead of someone I openly disrespect.

36. It's a nice idea; but a problem is that if he receives flowers from a group like this...
it might just make him feel as though he must be about to die immediately, or why would his 'enemies' suddenly be kind to him.

I think the best thing may be to donate to cancer research. There are too many people with this awful disease.
