WE FOUND A NEW PLACE TO LIVE!!! We think we can afford it, for now at least, and we don't have to jettison our dog which was looking like a sad but real possibility. We have been living in nearly slum conditions for two years since an out of state slum lord bought the place we've been renting in for over 9 years now. Our new landlord, using some actual human business sense instead of blind greed, actually lowered his rent for his place about $150 below what the market will bear to attract long term, reliable renters like us.

It's so strange to have a happy day I don't even know what to do with one anymore. Just thought I'd share and send a thanks to the wonderful people who have noticed my families struggles in the past on here and to the many who made me incredibly selfless offers of places to stay if things got dire enough. I love you all.

In fact two days before this happy news my wife got in a car accident and we are currently without stable wheels. Considering we were possibly looking at having to live in our car for a while I'd say we're still in the black for this week at least. She's ok of course or I'd be at a hospital bedside right now or something. Our car, not so much.

Vehicles have often been the bane of my existence. And my vehicles always sense when I have an extra couple hundred dollars lying around and demand double that amount as sacrifice. Another law of nature:

where x is the cost of any immediately necessary vehicle repair. I never have to ask my mechanic how much the repair bill is. I just have to know my current bank balance and how long till payday.

(construction work) Maybe that necessary confidence building is beginning a WHOLE lot faster than anyone anticipated?
