There's Blood In The Water- And Not Just A Little Bit
Here's why I think the dems in Congress deserve a lot more credit than they're getting round these parts:

What Katrina couldn't do, what the disaster of Iraq couldn't seem to do, the dems have done in little over two months. They have seriously wounded bush and cheney. That's no fortuitous accident. Would Walter Reed have been such a huge story if the pukes maintained power? No way. They would have shoved it under the rug, the way they shoved everything else under the rug. Hearings? We don't need no stinkin' hearings! Would we have heard from Valerie Plame? Never mind. That was strictly rhetorical. And USagate? Never would have been a story. That's what the power of controlling the agenda gives you.

I know we're divided on the Supplemental and how to end the war, but what do you think the repukes would have done if they were still in power. That was also rhetorical.

The fact is that the dems are circling a wounded animal. They've already done serious damange. It may take a few months, but they will go for the kill.

3. I agree with both the observations of the OP , and yours.
the bear is wounded, and you also want to be careful around wounded bears.

2. Remember "The Gauntlet"?
When Clint Eastwood delivered the witness to the courthouse, the commisioner (or judge or whoever he was) ordered his officers to shoot them both, buts the officers refused, then he grabbed a gun himself to do the deed, and was shot.

I picture in my mind Bush ordering the military to attack the Capital Building and kill all occupants. Traitors....everyone! Kill them! I am the president! Fire!

Then, he breaks down and cries cuz nobody is obeying his orders. He is hauled away, sucking his thumb, with Laura holding his hand and patting him on the head!

There's a movie in there somewhere! HA ha ha!

4. There is a new Bush scandal every week these days.
I wonder what's next! Maybe we'll find out today.

Gonzo is supposed to give his big testimony to Congress on April 17. April 17!? That's 22 days from now. By that time there will be at least three new, presently unknown BushCo scandals, all involving Gonzales, Cheney, and Rove. One of these will overshadow his attorney-firing testimony.

Just my prediction. You heard it here first.

5. And we're just getting started
Jay's people tell me the last 3 sections of their Phase II report will come out in late spring or early summer. Then we'll learn exactly what it was that Whitewash Roberts didn't want us to know.

7. What big things have the dems accomplished? Is Gonzo still
standing in front of the cameras lying? Is Cheney still calling dems traitors and terrorist supporters while collecting his 'deferred earnings' from Haliburton stock? Is our Navy not really in the Gulf conducting exercises? Has the bush** admin. quit threatening Iran? Is Halliburton, which has the Sultan of Dubai or someone like that as the major stockholder, still moving and taking the no-bid contracts and U.S. government security info with them? Has anyone brought anyone up on charges for lying to get us into an immoral (and I think obviously illegal) war in Iraq? Has anyone been charged or investigated for the missing billions and the mission explosives in Iraq? Has anyone gotten the CIA and FBI and DHS to quit opening our mail, listening to our phone calls, or possibly even to stop reading our e-mails? Have the subpoenas been issued for KKKarl and Harriet? This friggin' list is endless.

Let me know when this big change comes, because if it has I've missed it.
