2. Economies based on selling drugs classified as illegal is for
the benefit of both govt. and drug runners/dealers. For govt. it supplies them with prisoners, and the price stays inflated for the drug cartels. Legalize the drugs for recreational purposes like we do tobacco, alcohol, and tax it.

5. But people here blame Mexicans for ALL US economic problems.
If all our jobs were being lost to Mexico, then there would be more alternatives to the drug trade.

Instead, they're trying to get up here to work and China is getting the jobs.

6. it not only supplies money to government for prisoners,
But money as campaign financing.

Mexico's and Central American polticians have to be agreaable to the drug cartels. If you speak out, you get shot and killed, like at least one Catholic bishop.

8. Well that is indeed how they would frame it
But actually the money laundered by our banks is of such vast proportions that no politician is going to ever legalize drugs.

Both the lobbyists under drug cartel influence and the lobbyists for the banks will see that it never happens

As well as the prison industry.

4. Mexico is 1/3 the population of the U.S.
Just imagine if there were 22,000 drug cartel related assassination style murders here in the past year. Just imagine. This is a story that is not getting getting the type of coverage it should be, in proportion to the magnitude. I suspect the reason is that there are interests here in the U.S. who are profitting from what is going on.

Get This.... Khuzami, Deutsche Bank AG’s general counsel for the Americas, was appointed today to head the SEC’s biggest division, the agency said in a statement.

Khuzami spoke at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York, encouraging Americans to re-elect then President George W. Bush to “protect both our lives and our liberties.”

He also contributed $2,300 to Arizona Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign.

Deutsche Bank skirted the worst of the U.S. subprime mortgage crash by short-selling bonds that contributed to more than $1 trillion of losses and writedowns at the world’s largest financial companies.

9. I agree, but our corporate media would rather focus all their attention on
Edited on Fri Feb-20-09 03:24 PM by Uncle Joe
one kidnapping or one murder here in the United States as a distraction for the American People, than allow them to see first hand the devastating consequences behind the insane, Orwellian policy of turning what should be an educational, medical, personal privacy issue in to a Big Brother, criminal one, while waging war against inanimate objects.

The corporate media and their clients; big Pharma have their profits to make, not to mention, the rapidly growing for profit prison industry here in the land of the free and home of the brave.

Great blueprint for any maniacal dictator to follow.
