Any news on whether the MN senate race will be decided soon?
I want Al Franken in there. With Al, we will have a solid liberal democratic vote. In the senate with a threat of filibuster on every issue with the GOP (hmm, I wonder why the Democrats rarely did this when they were in the minority), he will be a big help and we wouldn't have to depend on all three of Specter, Snowe and Collins for every vote.

1. It didn't sound good when Polentey was on TV last night. He
as asked how much longer this could go on, and he said if either of the 2 sides decide to appeal to the Fed. courts, this could easily continue through the Summer and longer.

3. the election contest will continue for at least 4 more weeks. Then start the lawsuits.
The proceedings have accelerated recently but it's still going to be a long haul.

With any luck, they'll be able to seat Franken after the contest is finished.

Fingers crossed.

6. Umm, we are already in the lawsuit phase. Franken was certified
by the MN Election Board based on the recount findings, January 5, 2009. Everything since then has been based on Coleman lawsuits.

8. true, that. I was thinking of it more in terms of the predictable
contesting of the election. That would have happened (most likely) no matter who won the recount. I was referring to the less predictable but also likely lawsuits to follow the election contest.

4. I Think.........

Coleman knows he is going to lose, and they are just stalling as long as possible to keep Franken out of that seat for as long as they can. Imagine if a Democrat did this, the far right nuts on radio and tv would scream bloody murder. But Coleman does it and they dont say a word, and in fact, they give him money to keep it going.

9. It already has been decided, Coleman is just using the courts to prevent us from having a Senator.
