African-American ministers kick off effort to recall Republican Congressman Anh 'Joseph' Cao
They're not happy that he voted against the stimulus. Lots of hateful RW comments below the story.

1. While I appreciate the Ministers efforts
I suggest the Dems get behind a candidate and get the seat back in 2010. That will most likely happen anyway. Between Cao and vitter, Louisiana politics should be more of a three ring cicus then usual in the next election cycle.

2. Waste of time. Only way to remove a sitting congressman is resignation, expulsion, or death.
States have no authority over the terms of federal officeholders, and the Constitution offers no recall provision.

well to be honest you'll have to blame the democrats for not trying to get a better candidate than a corrupt one. Unfortunately we'll probably have to wait until 2010 and this guy will go bye-bye since the district is strongly democratic provided that the democrat in question isn't a corrupt one.

4. About time there were recall efforts for obstructionist Congresspeople.
And in California, even though a budget passed, there should be work on recalling some of the naysayers.
