Kisses for My DU Valentine! And smooches for everyone else too!!!

Thank you to the person who gave me a heart for Valentine's Day!! :loveya:

Please send me a pm so I can know who you are and thank you personally.

I know this is probably annoying to everyone else but have no other way to find the person who was so sweet and generous. I wasn't sure if I would stick around, pounding the streets as I am in the ongoing job search, but now my heart is tied to DU! Anyway, this is a great opportunity to say how much I really love DU and all the great people who post here. I'm glad I found you. :)

And for everyone who's going through uncertain times in this economy, perhaps laid off or having a tough time financially, my heart is especially with you and I wish you good luck!

2. I agree, but. . .
I think the anonymity is what keeps it from devolving into a mere popularity contest. It's obvious who's been around, but in a site this size that means a lot of us barely register above the chatter. The fact that so many people have opted to commit random acts of kindness and hand out hearts to the scores of "average" posters is really sweet. I know I've said it and I've seen countless others who've said that little gesture really turned a shitty holiday into an affirmation that things are really okay. Chances are good that the people who gave us hearts don't even remember us specifically, just that they were moved to reach out and share the love with someone. . . so better just to thank everyone for being good people. This is often a crusty bunch, but deep down, DU has a squishy marshmallow center. :grouphug:

3. I know, but I want to say thank you.

Logging on to find this really brightened my day, and makes my heart ache a little to know that someone who probably lives far away reached out with such a sweet act of kindness. Especially since I suppose I'm crusty way beyond my years :D Maybe the person doesn't remember me, or prefers anonymity (I hope not) but wanted to express my thankfulness and it never hurts to recognize kindness. DUers are good people.

6. Thank you Tom!
:hi:

And thanks for the well wishes on the job thingie. :) Luckily I've saved a bit of money so it's all good for now, but I really empathize with people who have kids and haven't been able to put anything away for leaner times. Someone I know who runs a small business has been hiring extra staff recently, which of course costs him, but there are good people everywhere.

Glad that, like me, you're getting by in these tough times. Others are not so lucky.

10. My kids have gotten older since I've joined DU -- none of them qualify
as "little" anymore. And the boys, especially, aren't into smooches with their mother anymore.

So I'll take those smooches where I can get them.

Thanks!
