Arlen Spector: Pathetic enabler whom history will damn.
Did anyone see his despicable performance on MTP yesterday? He said that he wishes Gonzales had been more “candid”— as if the AG was giving an interview to Life Magazine and not lying to congress. Spector said he wasn’t going to let the press influence his views– as if there is not iron clad evidence of Gonzales’s lies.

Watching this White House sycophant, I couldn’t help but think about the politicians, journalists, and academics who defended the early Nazi movement. If there is justice in this world, Arlen Spector will reap the same fate at those sick souls.

1. It boggles the mind.
How the rat bastard can even show his face in public after what was revealed in those e-mails is BEYOND me.

2. Specter has his finger in this too, how can someone who works
for him, sneak something into the Patriot Act, and not be picked up on. Didn't anyone read this shitty Patriot act?

3. Arlen Specter is one of the better Republicans.
He's, right now, one of the handful of Senate Republicans who is against Gonzales, rather than silent or defending him. In addition, he called the NSA wiretapping "clearly and categorically wrong," and is strongly in favor of granting full legal rights to all Gitmo detainees.

Your comparison with Nazi sympathizers is ludicrous.

4. Arlen Specter is a POS
He is not against Gonzalez at all AFAIC. He called the NSA wiretapping "clearly and categorically wrong" and then did absolutely nothing to put a stop to it. he was so "strongly" in favor of granting rights to gitmo detainees that he forgot all about it when it was time to go on Press the meat the following Sunday and I haven't heard him mention it again.

Specter pretends to be this independent voice of reason in the GOP but nobody, and I mean nobody, in that Senate bends over faster for shrub and the administration than him. His voting record is on par with the worst of the GOP scumbags on every vote that matters and his office is the one that put the nice little provision into that joke called a "patriot" act that allowed Gonzo to appoint US attorneys without submitting for Senate confirmation.

5. he's clearly one of the better weathervanes
He says the *right* things, but always ALWAYS backs the president and the republican party.

He's certainly NOT better for the Constitution or the american public.

7. Specter, the tough guy
Arlen Specter: "Instead of having, uh... a subpoena, why don't we have... uh, a peanut-butter sandwich? ... yeah. Why don't we all have a nice peanut-butter sandwich with Rove and Miers? And if they won't answer any questions, we won't let them have any 7-up! That'll show 'em we mean business!"

Oh, and then he'll just let them have the 7-up anyway.
