My Response to George Will's column titled: Pretending that D.C. Is a ‘State'
Mr. Will and the other corporatist propagandist want us to look over there while we suffer the second republican great depression. Thanks but no thanks George. The eight years bush was in office the republicans raped and looted the middle class. Now that President Barack Hussein Obama wants to put the middle class back to work, the republicans in Congress, all but 3, vote no, they want to go back to the Reagan/bush failed policies. The only thing they have is reducing taxes on the rich and raise taxes on the middle class. What is amazing is that some of the middle class, the republican part (Joe the stupid plumbers) don’t get it. Raise taxes on the middle class like Reagan and Bush I did, or raise taxes on those that can afford it. Duh. In the last eight years corporate and the wealthy have seen their incomes double while the middle class has lost wages, jobs, health insurance and homes. There is a huge homeless population in this supposedly richest country in the world. Too bad there are so many gullible chuckleheads that wear a flag pin and buy communist Chinese products from Walmart. Go to hell George Will.

2. I think you held beck too much and tried to kill him with kindness.
IMO, you should've gone for the jugular and thrown in more insults. Oh well, a rec for the effort.

;)

4. I was joking around obviously!
I think it's great that you took the time to write. Granted, my approach would've been a little different, but there's merit in different approaches.

:)

6. George Will is a Dumb Ass with a Pulitzer Prize. Here is how to debunk this bit of silliness.

George Will declares that giving DC a Representative is like taking a figurative crap on the Constitution.

http://townhall.com/columnists/GeorgeWill/2009/02/05/the_unconstitutional_compromise

Wyoming has a population just over a million people, and it has two Senators and a Representative (singular).

http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/56000.html

The District of Columbia has just over half a million people and it has no Congressional representation.

http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/11000.html

Note that DC pays more revenue per capita than any other state---almost 5 times as much federal revenue total as Wyoming and more than about half the other states. While this does not cover the federal spending in DC, I suspect if you factor in the tax revenues of the suburbs around DC, you would get a much higher number.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_tax_revenue_by_state

The Colonies became the United States because taxation without representation was tyranny. Currently, DC is being taxed at a very high rate without the same representation afforded to citizens of other states. Does George Will believe that the American patriots had no right to rebel against King George? Does he believe that the U.S. is an illegal enterprise? Or does he accept that some laws outlive their original usefulness and are open to renegotiation?

If DC were a Republican enclave like Wyoming, they would have had two Senators to represent their cattle and coyotes long ago.
