I know how he feels. Years ago I worked for Micky D's in San Rafael, Cal. The work was OK for mindless but trying to get 40 hours was almost impossible. The managers made sure that I didn't get those hours because I was a long-time employee similar to Julio. Management plays a shell game of passing the work around to the long line of those willing to do the work regardless of loyalty or enthusiasim. Like Walmart, this keeps the best employees from receiving healthcare because of the costs.

This situation would benefit from single-payer healthcare. Basically, we replace the eligibility year on Medicare and get coverage with 3% overhead instead of 15% to 35% overhead going to fatcats. Once done, the rates of remuneration can be controlled by Medicare e.g., no $3000 Cat scans which cost $100 in Japan because they are controlled.

The fee control is what the fat cats really fear, and rightly, about efficient single-payer healthcare.

1. it falls into the republican mindset of "be thankful you have a job, you wart!"
it never enters their mind that if they actually paid their employees properly, gave them 40 hours plus benefits, they would have a more contented worker who would go that extra mile when needed.

Now, all this repuke stooges have are people waiting for the chance to slit their throats.

reap what you sow.

2. I like that
I was the stoooooooopid dutiful type of employee at Micky D's when I was there, but I understand that it could as well have been Walmart, for instance. If there had been any promise of advancement you can imagine how hard I would have worked then.
