OK, the press conferenence could have gone better - how hard is
it to update the notes the President takes out with him on who to call on to include where these people are sitting?

They could have used a still from video from all those folks sitting in there to point out where he should be looking when he calls out someone's name from his cards? A small thing, but one that inspires confidence and removes one right wing talking point.

3. i dunno...seems a little bit on the micromanaging side...
he's taking questions on the most complicated issues I've personally ever heard. He switched from foreign policy to deep macroeconomic issues pretty gracefully. I actually didnt notice any embarassing pauses in looking for journos, but I was just listening.

Are we going to start complaining about the lighting also?

11. Yeah well I really didn't like the stupid fake greenery around the
stage either, but our President was awesome. Someone should run some worst moments (there were no unbad ones) of Dumbyah's pressers for contrast.

Him knowing where everyone was sitting would have looked staged.

Did you forget the sarcasm smiley?
Or did you mean that literally?
No RWer could put down that presser. What a contrast with what we have had to put up with for the past 8 years.

Have you forgot 3.6 million people have lost there jobs in 13 months????????

There are better things to be concerned about than whether or not the Prez knows where everyone is sitting...

26. No, it was a lighting thing.
His eyelids as well as his lips have always tended toward the purple.

Way early on, I said to Mr. Austin that I was worried that people wouldn't vote for someone with purple lips. :)

So VERY glad I was wrong.

and it is amazing that someone actually can look like they are wearing make up when they aren't. That only means that this is an amazing looking guy.

17. I didn't hear anything new other than he did re-inforce
That the BCF would get away with their crimes so I guess all those involved get away and all that suffered because of it are screwed.

The entire reason Obama says he was stuck with this economic disaster was because of the criminals yet he is willing to let it go.

33. You should listen to it again.
No offense but he did say no one is above the law but the insert of we are looking forward sends a clear message that the BCF is out of the apicture and this is not the forst time Obama said this.

Now perhaps since he is trying to get along with the republican party he is not saying more but that is a best guess.

I would say moving forward as Biden also said means starting now and forgetting the past crimes.

22. Yeah, seriously - he's a fantastic communicator - I hate to see his
people allow things like this for the M$M to use to obscure the message that he had. I liked what he had to say mostly, but after the contrast of the past 8 years of letting Bush get away with everything versus the "new' media who wants to hold Obama accountable - I'd love to see his media people manage the stage settings so that they don't have things they can focus on to distract the public from the message.

I'd be willing to bet that tomorrow's talking points on M$M will be more about the style of the message than the substance. If we deny them those type of non-issues, then they'll have nothing left to report on but the message. Most of you are right - none of this should matter. But the reality is that it will be played up as though it does. Ad Nauseum. And in the end, more of the public who needed to hear the message will be left with this vague impression that he didn't do well in his first press conference than will hear how wonderfully he addressed the questions with actual answers.
