I live in Chicago Il

and there are homeless people on lincoln ave. a few blocks away. What should I do to help them when they run from me and won't talk to me at all, and I pretty much look the same. ( I have nothing to speak of) What can I do. I have offered job help before I lost mine? What can I do to help
