Who's afraid of the Freemasons?
Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 04:51 AM by Kitty Herder
This is a weird topic, but I was just on a nutty conspiracy theory website,so the topic is on mind. Why are conspiracy theory types who rage against the "New World Order" and the like so obsessed with FreeMasons? The Masons seem pretty harmless to me.

1. Actually, it's the Oddfellows who give me the willies.
Those guys are scary.

2. The masons draw people to speculations because of their long history of secrecy.
And because they used to be a highly influential group with lots of powerful members. I think nowadays though they don't do much more than a little charity work. Back a few centuries ago however, they were a relevant political force.

4. I suppose that makes sense.
It's just that is seems pretty silly to me because the masons aren't that secretive anymore, and most of them are just regular guys. It's almost like the Elks club. (Honestly, the whole New World Order, Illuminati, etc. thing seems pretty silly to me.)

6. Yes, that does concern me.
I don't like a private entity having that much power over our government. But I freely admit that I don't have a great understanding of how all that banking voodoo works.
