TBI Searches Jeff Miller's Law Office In Bradley County

TBI agents spent the day sifting through documents at the law office of Jeff Miller. Miller is a former state senator and served as Bradley county's delinquent tax attorney. Assistant District Attorney Stephen Hatchett wont elaborate on what they're looking for.

Hatchett, "It's one of things where if we didn't investigate people would say why aren't we investigating. So there should be no rush to judgement based on the fact that the TBI is looking into this."

County commissioners removed Miller from the job in December after a no confidence vote. He challenged the action but a judge upheld the commission's decision earlier this month. Hatchett says the investigation centers around whether or not Miller properly performed his duties while employed by the county.

Hatchett, "There are certain things a delinquent tax attorney is responsible for doing and should it be that he was not doing those duties, that would be something our office would have to take up."

Millers website states he also specializes in personal injury, workers comp, and bankrupty law. Hacthett says this investigation has nothing to do with his work on those cases.
