Who Will Be Part of 'The Great Recovery'
This year will be seen as the recovery year. We are facing a deep recession, possibly a depression. Want to know how bad it is? We still don't know what we're going to call it. 'The Next Great Depression', 'the Second Depression', 'The Great Stagnation', 'The Bursting Bubbles'? We don't know, yet.

But, this year could be marked as 'The Great Recovery'. If, and it's a big if, the adults of the government can implement the necessary projects.

The Republican House has proven, out of the gate that the wish to stand, lockstep, in the way of the recovery. So be it. We don't need them. We saw that today, as EVERY REPUBLICAN HOUSE MEMBER was defeated.

They will either continue to obstruct, or they will look to 2010 and reach across the aisle. Either way, they will not be a viable political force for the next two years, or in 2010.

The Senate, we need to pay attention to. 15 are up for re-election. 4 are retiring. Once AL Franken is seated, we will need one Senator from the right to join us each time we need to defeat a filibuster. There are a few moderates that will keep things moving, Snowe for example. But, here are the vulnerable ones, with their jobs on the line in 2010:

Richard Shelby of Alabama
Lisa Murkowski of Alaska
John McCain of Arizona
Johnny Isakson of Georgia
Mike Crapo of Idaho
Chuck Grassley of Iowa
Jim Bunning of Kentucky
David Vitter of Louisiana
Judd Gregg of New Hampshire
Richard Burr of North Carolina
Tom Coburn of Oklahoma
Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania
Jim DeMint of South Carolina
John Thune of South Dakota
Bob Bennett of Utah

Retiring are Brownback (Kansas), Martinez (Florida), Bond (Missouri) and Voinovich (Ohio)

Some of these are from red states, with little chance of turning, but most of these should be the pressure points from the next two years. This is where we can divide them, and end them as a party, at least for a couple of cycles.

Those running for re-election will need to be a part of this recovery, or they are done.

2. "The Great Recovery" was preceded by "The Great Deception"
which the people on this list help perpetuate.

3. Great Post!
Keep the heat up - fill their mail boxes and remind them their future depends on their votes and the whole world is watching what they do.

Vote for Recovery - Vote for America.

4. IMO - there is not going to be "'The Great Recovery'" . . . - - people have wake up -
.
.
.

USAmerica has spread it's claws all over the globe to the extent that it's bankrupted it's base/homeland - whatever you want to call it.

Vikings did this centuries ago -

Rome did it,

Britain did it,

Soviet Union did it

extended themselves beyond their financial means, creating enemies in the process,

guess what?

history repeats itself

I think President Obama MAY be able to recover some of the global respect for the USA . .

But it's "superpower" image ?

I think the BFEE pretty well blew that one . .

Just my humble Canuck Opinion . . .
