As Jon Stewart did, let's just put the question in plain Layman Republican terms
"What is wrong with just placing your hand on the Bible and swearing to tell the truth?" Plain and simple....

1. Excellent point
If John Kerry learned that lesson he'd be President.

I think that is something that needs to be addressed. Simplicity will gain votes.

2. And, we can also add...
another favorite Republican mantra: "If they've done nothing wrong, what do they have to fear?"

4. Everyday someone should be asking the question:
"What do they have to hide?" It isn't an issue of who has the power to do what. It is, "what are they trying to hide?"

Political points? The only political points at play in this scenario are the points being lost by the WH, and by association, the Republicans - and the Republicans have got to know this. The good of the Republic Party is being suborned to the hubris and criminality of the Bush regime; a regime with less than a year and a half of effective power left. Why would the Republic Party allow this to happen? What is their thinking?

"What are they trying to hide?"
