The way to get back at the Bush Administration
I have often felt that what is happening in America is by design, that there are certain people in our former government that 'never stop thinking about ways to hurt our country and our people'. I think besides looting the country and taking the money for themselves and their friends, they actually thrive on causing other people to suffer. They want poverty because then the 'little people' will do whatever they want on the cheap. I think they want this poverty to makes us fight against each other, a running goal to divide and conquer.

As evidenced by a 93 year old man freezing to death in his home, there are so many people hurting now that we cannot wait for government changes/programs to come to our rescue. We have to start looking for ways to help our fellow (wo)man. I know that everyone is hurting, but there are so many ways, sometimes it is just the little things that make a huge difference. One person commented on another thread that when they were 11 years old freezing in their apartment, all they needed was a thicker, warmer blanket to make a big difference. It is with this in mind that Duer Maryf has started a Poverty Emergency Fund to help DUers who are suffering from the consequences of poverty. We have homeless DUers, we have jobless DUers, we have DUers with families that cannot afford the things that their children need. Sometimes it is just the little things that make a huge difference and we are going to look for ways to make that difference. If anyone wants to contribute to this fund, please PM me and I will give you the account number information. We have also formed a poverty group and if you want to participate please PM Bobbolink for an invite.

So many people like to give to organizations during the holiday season, but it is even more effective to look around your community and see who needs help right now. There might be a 93 year old man living next door that is freezing because of a cold hearted power company, or a family that had to buy asthma medicine so they are living on crackers for the next week. In many cases it is a matter of life and death and you might just make that difference. I hope to come out of this depression/recession with a new meme in this country, that it is more fulfilling to share and care then hoard and judge. This is how we can overcome what the Bush Administration has done to us and set the country back on track.
