2. All of the above
As much damage as he did to the country, and I'll be the first to say he did a heck of a lot, he had style and panache.

We should not close our minds to that.

We should learn what worked, from a propaganda perspective, and use it.

5. Other. Fucking simpleton that was a professional actor and knew how to deliver a line.
He never understood one thing that he did, they just told him what to say and he did it well.

6. It was fun watching the Republicans Imploding Over Deregulation
So overtly - at the water cooler - the talking heads - et cetera

And watching them trying to explain it away.

It has been fulfiing for me spiritually.

But from a very real economic perspective, we are all paying for it.

Reagan sucks.

and even back then I was repulsed at the republican greed and empty words spewing from Reagan's mouth. I didn't understand why being a fucking American meant we did not have to conserve energy, but apparently the American people bought into that bullshit. Even I, a person of barely average intelligence understood that America took a turn for the worse when we elected Reagan. Why didn't all the Americans smarter than me get it???

14. His is the legacy we should be attacking. The RWers are saying it is to soon for Shrub's
and we need to wait 20 years or more to decide on his legacy.

Well it has been 20 years now since Reagan left office and we should be able to look clearly at the long term effects of his policies, Such as arming the rebels in Afghanistan, illegally arming Iran etc etc etc.

If we can show that being a Reagan Republican (or Democrat) is something to be ashamed of it helps us in every election for decades to come. They have no other President to aspire to emulate since Eisenhower.

Reagan is an easy target, we should take our shots.

17. I went for "other"
He was a good orator, but also fairly effective at getting what he wanted. President Obama has been studying Washington, Lincoln, FDR and Kennedy, he had better study Raygun as well if he doesn't want to be a one-term President.

One of the ways Reagan got what he wanted was to go over the heads of Congress to portray them as a bunch of squabbling whiners. Everybody hates Congress, but likes their own Congresscritter. Reagan managed to corral that feeling to his benefit. I remember when he gutted the Constitution for the war on drugs. It's clear that Chimpy studied him when it was time to shred the Bill of Rights for the war on terror.

Ríos Montt, thousands under Argentina (while we were playing footsie with them before the Falklands), dozens of thousands of Mozambicans and Angolans (plus the wildlife UNITA and RENAMO decimated--octoginated?--to fund their war of re-oppression)
makes Milošević look like quite a piker!

There wasn't a category for his crimes. His refusing to even speak the word AIDS until the bitter end being one of the more glaring, and utterly unforgivable.

At least he got what he deserved - succumbing to one of the very diseases he suppressed finding a cure for. Like I said, evil, stupid motherfucker.

33. Fundamentalpatient fuckface.
Opened the FLOODgates on hyper-corporatist neo-fascism disguised as modern conservatism. Successfully packaged hatred to a gullible following. Already a former spokesperson for GE, it was nothing to him to sell the most senseless tax policies, anti-worker measures and debt-exploding bullshit to a finger-up-their-nose public who didn't seem to get that Freidmanomic disaster capitalism was being installed quietly and slowly. This took prosperity, jobs, solvency and hope and tossed it right out the fucking window.

Thanks, you gumby headed fuck. May you continue to rot under the sulfuric sweaty sheath of Satan's taint.
