If one is genetically predisposed to irrascibility, partisanship, and 'sailor' language ...........
... can he be expected to change just because he has a new job and a new boss?

I do not think so. I think any change noted at the start of that relationship is temporary at best.

Rahm Emanuel is in that position. People are saying his new job needs to have a calmer peronality. Obama, however, seems to see it a little differently. There's no way someone as smart as Obama thinks Rahm can change.

I like Rahm's style. I understand his personality.

I do not think he can make a permanent change or even act like he's changed for more than a few months at best.

1. All depends on the environment

As a Congressman, he had to deal with people day in and day out. One's offensiveness can be more apparent with that as the case.

As CoS he can stay behind the scenes if he wants.

2. I'm a fucking irrascible partisan and I don't expect to change for any reason
and I wouldn't expect anyone else to. Rahm Emanuel was chosen as Chief of Staff FOR those qualities, not to change them.

The only people complaining are the LOSERS who are now in abject fear of Rahm Emanuel for his well known qualities. Changing them would defeat the purpose of his appointment.

Give them hell, Rahm. They deserve it.

4. He is who he is........
People don't change. Not ever. That's my belief and experience, and Emanuel has done just fine in this world so far, thank you very much, by being perfectly true to exactly who he is.

I find him exciting, refreshing, and exactly what we need.

Anyone care to tell me anything about Fuckface's last Chief of Staff?

Like - no fair googling - his name? Or his background?

Yeah. Right.

7. I think Rahm was specifically chosen because he's a good knifeman.
He's the embodiment of Obama's badass side.
