Numbers on the Mall on Inaugural Day.

Hubby told me that someone at work said that Reagan had larger numbers on the mall. Does anyone have a good link to get the official numbers for each president?

4. How silly. Ask yourself, were there more televisions world wide in 1980 or now

First you have to ask yourself, were there as many televisions (and portable satellite dishes to receive the signals in remote areas) on earth in 1980 as there were tuned into President Obama's innaguration last tuesday, then we can move on to the next question.

are for network television. How many people watched Reagan on cable? (hint: zero) Add that to the millions who watched via the internet (again, zero for Reagan), and the audience numbers are not even remotely comparable.

And about those TV numbers .... if you take into account the numbers of people watching online, there's no contest. And remember, the TV ratings don't include C-Span. I watched on C-Span, and I don't remember that being an option in 1981.

Then consider the people watching around the world, and I think it can be easily confirmed that this was the most-watched presidential inauguration in history.

Reagan did get more people watching on television, but people weren't relying on the internet back then so who knows.

Thats the # for the 1 I watched. How many 1000's of watch parties with the same or more? They can't even imagine how many more watched President Obama.
