2. Oh yeah!
I've been waiting and hoping for this for years now, and it's finally starting to break. I followed both Watergate and Iran Contra very closely, but I have never seen anything like this. What a sweet day for democracy. I've been getting very little work done this week, siting glued to DU ever since Plame Day.

I'm so happy for our neighbours to the south - finally it really is "Morning in America".

 :toast: :bounce: :grouphug: :patriot:

4. Count me in on both counts!
I am beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel now that the Democrats are back in charge of Congress and in charge of INVESTIGATIONS!

5. Right on Bro
It's because of DU. that I've come to the conclusion that all Americans aren't a bunch of laughably pathetic losers who deserve to be the next Soviet Union.

14. In March 2003 how many Americans did you argue with that...
...Iraq is probably be gonna be a quagmire like Viet Nam.

I'd rather observe reality correctly than be big. ;)

17. What are you talking about?
My point was that - according to your own post - prior to your epiphany, you believed that all Americans were a bunch of "laughably pathetic losers who deserve to be the next Soviet Union".

Your belated realization that Americans are not a bunch of "laughably pathetic losers who deserve to be the next Soviet Union" does not instill in me a great warmth or a desire to give you a high five for eventually getting over your misguided and wrongheaded beliefs and for eventually getting over your misguided and unsubstantiated sense of superiority.

19. "... a bunch of "laughably pathetic losers who deserve to be the next Soviet Union"."
Sometimes I feel that way, whenever Bushler makes another one of his signing statements that says he's above the law.

7. Thanks for identifying yourselves I thought I was alone, I have many good friends who are Americans
and they all seem to be in a constant state of grief. Most are very well read and believe that the decline of the USA is already foretold and in fact supported by the current regime. I agree but do believe that if the masses revolted and made their views apparent that a different outcome could be realized. Never give up.

cluster fuck IMHO. But don"t tell that to Georgie Boy you are realizing an important success in the WOT as far as he is able to discern.

16. Count me in
I just wish I had more time to feed my addiction. My first realization of anything political was Nixon resigning. I was 10 and I remember my parents and grandparents talking about tapes, "expletives deleted" (remember that new phrase?), hearings and then the walk to the helicopter. I of course didn't understand it all and probably didn't care.

I spoke with my mother the other day and asked if she was following the news lately. She has been although she doesn't use the internet, so she's getting it all from CNN. I asked if there is any comparison and she said "oh no, I think this guy (meaning Bush) going down will be much juicier" ...

My partner, who lives in Canada now, is American born so it's an interesting perspective that comes together in our house :)

I'm an American citizen, but live just across the Detroit River from you. By way of credentials, I have posted on DU since 2001. I, too, am waiting for justice. Do I qualify? ;-)

24. A sense of humour?
What else does one need in Australia?

I don't know enough about Canadians to really answer your question, though.

Well, I can think of something: Clothes that are not warm. CSU is not in the warmest place in Australia, but there is no-where in Australia that is particularly cold. :)

And get ready to conserve water! We're running out!

And since I'm a country bumpkin, I think hats are awesome.

25. Thanks, she has a great sense of humour, how bad is the water situation is it at all limited to the
average person or is it mostly restrictions on lawn watering and such.
