War Crimes Prosecution Watch reports the United States
sentenced "Chuckie" Taylor, the son of former Liberian President Charles Taylor,
to 97 years in prison for torture.

US District Judge Cecilia M Altonaga imposed the sentence on Chuckie Taylor - whose real name is Charles McArthur Emmanuel - at a hearing in a Miami court.
It is the first time a US court applied a 1994 law allowing the prosecution of citizens who commit torture overseas.

Chuckie Taylor, 31, who headed a notorious paramilitary unit during his father's rule,
denies 11 counts of crimes against humanity and war crimes.

I highly recommend subscribing to the free War Crimes Prosecution Watch e-mail updates, which covers war crimes all over the world, including ones THE USA is prosecuting,
and covers China, Sudan, other counties threats against people who support war crimes prosecution.

Here is link to the current update, from which I patched the above story.

1. Amazing seeing all those people who are being charged all around the world!

More people should have read this post. I just listed a Secretary of Peace post here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=4908415&mesg_id=4908415

And so far no one has remarked on it. Isn't it something how something as wonderful as PEACE and seeing War Crimes being prosecuted bring not one rec?

Oh well - we are in this together - Praise Peace and prosecute those who fight against it!

:applause:

2. I have always been a peace advocate but someone always
puts me down as being too idealistic. I think it is the number one ideal. Testosterone is an addictive drug and we as humans need to recognize that we have to evolve beyond the caveman mentality of violence and death being the answer to everything.
