FReepers are furious at Tom Hanks and still love Sarah! More from FR
Edited on Sun Jan-25-09 09:59 AM by galaxy21
" McCain and his bratty daughter are shameful in their treatment of Governor Palin since the election".

"When I watched the inagural on Tuesday I kept envisioning Sarah Palin going through the process. It’s not a matter of if she will be POTUS but when..."

"I can’t wait to read her book, and I bet whatever money she makes out of the book deal she gives away to charity." (yeah, right...)

"Part of why Palin got such bad press treatment was that she didn’t give an impression of being informed"
in response
"So what?"

"Many democrats hate Sarah because she is a woman, and they are sexist. They hate the idea of a woman leader." (Um...Hillary?)

"Is IQ really a relevant standard for Presidents, beyond a certain acceptable level? Of course not. No more than it is for a corporate chief executive, a team captain or anybody in a leadership position" (Is a corporate chief or team captain going to have nuclear codes?)

"Sarah only lost that Alaskan beauty pagaent because of Affirmitive Action"

And they're pissed at Tom Hanks

"His son must be gay. Why on earth would he support “gay marriage” if someone near or dear to him wasn’t gay?"

"Another actor off my list of people to see."

"I’m tossing all the movies I own with Tom Hanks in them. He’s lost all credibility now."

"I must have missed the part of his speech where he said that blacks and hispanics who supported prop 8 were also being un-american."

Freepers are also unhappy with 24, and hints that the show may be taking a different direction

"24 is one of my all-time favorite shows, but if Jack drops one progressive idea I'm done with him."

"I watched the show partly for the pleasure of seeing Jack break some terrorist’s fingers slowly, one by one, and if he stops doing that I’ll stop watching. I mean, nobody watches the thing for superb acting!"

"President Bush reminds me of Jack Bauer."

Talk also turned to other matters

"If it weren't for President Bush we would be suffering terrorist attacks every week!"

"I hate to tell you this but Jindal is not natural born, neither his father are his mother were citizens, they had only been in the country a short time before his birth, actually I don't think his mother is a citizen today."
(yeah, that still makes him natural born...)

"Gillibrand is a conservative democrat? What does that mean, she's only 90% liberal?"

"Booing Bush? What ungrateful bastards."

"President George W. Bush has raised the bar by which political courage should be measured."

4. Reality and these people are completely separated

"Jindal is not natural born".
"President Bush reminds me of Jack Bauer" What, a fictional character?
"I can't wait to read her book, and I bet whatever money she makes out of the book deal she gives away to charity". Yeah, the Sarah Palin wants more money charity.
And on and on. I am not a therapist but I think maybe these folks may be insane.

7. They are certifiable...
My sister's husband is one of them...he is STILL going on and on about the Obama birth certificate and how the Secretary of State for Hawaii was given an ultimatum while Barrack was visiting his dying grandmother for the last time.

You can't argue with these people...
You can't reason with these people...
You can't even converse with these people...

My recommendation is to allow these torture-loving, alternative-reality-living, mindless-zombies their wish - intern them all at G-Bay and let them keep it open with only themselves as guards AND inmates...they would turn on each other like hungry wolves on meat....shit, put it on pay-per-view and watch as they start rubbing feces on each other and arguing over who loves Sarah the most and whose idolatry is most pure...

9. My BIL is one, too
Edited on Sun Jan-25-09 10:48 AM by Catshrink
My sister used to be somewhat reasonable but after 40 years with my BIL, she's Palin-lite, if there could possibly be a lighter version of Miss Sarah.

She's toned it down a little now. She used to spout, "We need to fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here." Now she is strangely silent -- her son is scheduled to be deployed "over there" this summer.

I forgot to add -- Welcome to DU! :hi:

11. I like these two...
"Another actor off my list of people to see."

"I’m tossing all the movies I own with Tom Hanks in them. He’s lost all credibility now."

If they keep knocking actors off their lists, the only movies they judge as "suitable" for them will star Rin Tin Tin and Francis the Talking Mule

12. "is IQ really a relevant standard for presidents"?? so they admit * and Palin
are really not the sharpest knives in the drawer!

stupidity worships stupidity. They love * and Palin because they represent the very lowest denominator--themselves--and signify that even the terminally stupid can be president, so they flatter themselves by thinking that even they--bozo high school dropouts clutching beer cans and shotguns--can be president!

if ONLY they could have their own land--Moronistan--of, by, and for total morons. The old testament could be "law of the land" (well, only the parts about women being servile), fire and police services could be by subscription only and all roads could be toll roads because there would be NO TAXES! and hence no libraries, no public parks, NO PUBLIC SCHOOLS, no public clinics. Also no unions or limits on hours of work, no minimum wage--corporations could outsource to Moronistan, pay workers 20 cents an hour, and make them work 14 or 16-hour days, beginning at age 8 or so. Good luck with that, clowns. Don't bother to come back here when things just don't work out so well.
