This week Michelle Obama's spokeswoman, Katie McCormick Lelyveld, explained how the first lady feels about new dolls on the market that share her daughters' names.

"We believe it is inappropriate to use young private citizens for marketing purposes," Lelyveld said in a statement.

If they can be forced to pull them from market, I'm all for it.

They're tacky, and it's invasive.

In seriousness, they were not intentionally disrespectful. Yet at the same time, is it making a living telling China to make a bunch of dolls looking like political figures? If that's a job, we could all be millionaires.

12. MIchelle Obama's spokesperson did more to publicize these dolls than the doll maker.

I thinks its disengenuous for the company to deny that the Obama daughters were the inspiration, but the Obama's have no claim to those names on brown skinned girl dolls.
